His carb and fibre intake came from vegs. Tofu is secondary protein while egg is primary protein.

I'm limit to 250ml cup of unsweetened tea/coffee a day. Plain water I can drink 750ml. I haven't drink coke zero or diet coke for more than 7 years. Normal coke I got drink 1 mouthful whenever my wife open a can.
I occasionally drink 1.5 litre of coffee on some days. :s13:

... or add half tea spoon sugar.
If you are not diabetic, of cos you can.

And if you diabetic with blood sugar under control, half a teaspoon of sugar won't matter, maybe don't even cause any spike.

But if you are 1982-1994 then cannot, it will sure spike and cannot come down but becos he don't prick his finger, he can pretend he is fine.

Remember a bowl of rice equals to 10 teaspoons of sugar.

Did they say why blood sugar increased even though normal saline is provided?

Is it possible it's the predawn phenomenon?

My wife bought it days ago, but does it help since I am not eating rice and sweet food?
Can you tell us since you don't eat rice and sweet food, why your 2 sets of 12 hrs finger prick is as high as 9.5-9.6?

Must be either you overeat, or your pancrea unable to produce enough insulin to bring down your blood sugar.

Like that your 3-months hba1c sure above 6.5

His brain feel his body weak due to IV saline so signal his liver to supply some glucose so he can have some strength.

I fasted for 11 days during my stay, my finger prick always between 4.5 to 5 so in order to sustain my wellbeing, they IV me with saline mixed with glucose. 2 hrs later my finger prick will shows 5.8-6.3.

Hmmm.. my HbA1c is 5.9 based on 20 Feb 24, 5.8 on 21 Aug 23.

My Glucose, 120 min, was 10.1 (mmol/L) on 21 Aug 23.
There is still hope for you...

Increasing physical activity levels and making dietary changes such as eating fewer processed and sugary foods can reduce blood sugar levels and reverse impaired glucose tolerance, or prediabetes.

Where can i buy good green tea? For breakfast am going to replace coffee with green tea

can drink black coffee or add half tea spoon sugar.

Good point! I assume @yobyella is not sick :p
I'm a coffee drinker, hard to switch to tea. So I'm taking black coffee now. Some days I cheat, I add some sugar.

I'm not trying to be a dr, but I'm on Metformin 850mg, one morning, one night.
I complained my throat feels like a lot of mucous, I can't eat much. Eat a bit and feel nauseous.
Later dr, dropped it to one morning 850mg, then I feel better.

I also have 3 other types of diabetes pills. My current hb1ac is 7.8

This is just a reference, follow your dr prescription is the best.

Nowadays, I tried to eat mostly vegetables. I seldom have meat, pork or chicken.
Have a big cup of green tea, and drink it for the day.
Your goal is to lower your hba1c to 6.5 by adding exercise program every day/night.

To much vegs equal too much carb. You need meat based primary protein for your muscle to work and recover.

Tofu and beans/nuts are plant based secondary protein, means you need to overeat to get same result as meat based primary protein.

100 grams of tofu gives 8 grams of protein; 100 grams of chicken breast gives 31 grams of protein, beef gives 26 grams of protein.

Overeat means you are eating too much carb, no wonder your hba1c is in the diabetic range.

You want a better hba1c, you need to BALANCE your dietary intake and involve some form of EXERCISE.

A small bowl of white rice equals to 10 teaspoons of white sugar.

Some days u cheat by adding some sugar, just remember to eat less white rice to cover.
