Accidents are meant to be out of the norm. That's when speed limit plays a part in mitigate the risk and damage involved
Your MRT quote is irrelevant because we do have siaolangs jumping onto the tracks at AMK station when there is no barrier at all.
So are these accidents the fault of the train drivers, or the fault of siaolang lawbreakers?
And in such accidents, who is held at fault? Who is responsible for compensation? Train driver for failing to stop in time, or siaolangs for trespassing on tracks?
If someone go walk on the train tracks, can guarantee heavy fine plus stay at changi chalet. If someone go jump in front of a train, can guarantee get charged 9696 for being a public nuisance and endangering lives of passengers.
Likewise, why can't the same principles be applied, and hold those who broke traffic/road rules accountable for their actions?
