If I’m not wrong, the old iu, the carpark guys can come and scans to check season parking.

Won’t be surprised if one day someone say an authorised agency can go and scan for datapoints
Carpark attendants come during office hour to scan for parking. SPF drives around after 1am with a huge antenna, capturing more data.
OBU2.0 likely comes with a map and memory, so more data can be extracted.

Indeed very worrying. From LTA's laymen understanding of their own device, seems it will under high load constantly, computing something. The communication with the GPS satellite. I don't see how it is computationally intensive. Could be poorly written in-house code.

For something to overheat, means the current draw must be substantial.

LTA please clarify how much is the power draw when the car is parked, how long can we leave our cars parked before the car battery becomes too weak to start the engine :s11:

Can LTA please quash the rumours that the OBU would suffer permanent damage if internal battery of OBU becomes flat :s11:
in the video which they explain the 1 of the 3-part is the freaking ANTENNA, i realised my earlier assumption that's its using 4g/5g node to calculate GPS was wrong. How can a phone ANTENNA be so big?! That :poop: must be eating a lot of power also to keep checking location to calculate distance travelled in CBD

you wait till the first 5 years where AD are absolutely pissed with car owners complaining battery flat.

then suddenly, all the power wires are linked with ACC/ignition/kl15

even the current V1 IU, my AD already use ACC for power.

it is stupid to even use batt power

Whose battery isis? :ROFLMAO:
What if the car battery is not sufficient for those things? Who will be paying for the battery necessary upgrade?

If my car battery flat, cannot start after installing OBU, can LTA pay for my recovery, repair and loss of use? :s11:

What if my car comes with li-ion from factory, each battery cost 10k to replace?

Think need to have fire extinguisher in the car. This thing might just explode when in the sun. They will blame it on global warming and straw usage. I heard there is a clause that said if the device damage your vehicle it’s not their fault. It’s your car underlining issue and you are too fat.

Yes. there are so many electronics in the car nowadays, only those ERP 2.0 things cannot withstand heat from the sun…. :ROFLMAO:

Not only heat, I think one of this fine day it will short circuit the car and cost serious problems
