clearly you have major comprehension issues and you don't even understand NLT's role in the NGNBN model, because if you do, you'll know onus is on the RSP themselves. 🤡
I have mistaken NLT's role. Is there any link i can read about NLT role in the NGNBN?

exactly ... 10G adapter is still so expensive. Only can afford 2.5G for now... bought 1 from taobao for RMB129. Still on ship slowly enroute here... haha
At first i still thinking you are using LAN connection to your PC. Then it is normal and no issue. Mistaken. I just do not understand why ST no issue and yet SH got issue.

SH Network Team informed that there is no issue with Starhub Network. I asked support to re-surface the issue to Network Team with the Technician report again and send chaser every Friday.

The article is actually correct. Basically NLT is already ready with the Fibre network. Now the upgrade is more with the ISPs to upgrade their backend ( eg: OLT and core networks, not an expert here ) and end-user equipment (XGS-PON ONT/ONR and the bundled router)

++++++++++++++++++++++++
As the fibre network is already capable of supporting 10Gbps services, investments will go mainly into network equipment that "lights up" the fibre, said IMDA. These include equipment at the back-end and end-user premises such as modem routers.

Equipment in homes will be part of service packages offered by broadband service providers.
++++++++++++++++++++++++

I see so now is waiting for the equipments at the backend to be upgraded so that we can get the bandwidth required. I read too fast and missed this important part. Thanks.

Other than free Starhub issued Nokia XS-2426X-A XGS-PON ONR (with wireless AX6000) and Singtel issued ZTE F8648P ONR (wired only, no wireless), other 10G capable routers are not that cheap to get.

Cheapest is proble Starhub issued EB810v and Singtel issued HB810 as well as MR issued Archer BE805. All three are 10G capable triband WiFi 7 router (with 6GHz band and 320MHz channel bandwidth). But then EB810v and HB810 are kind of locked to Starhub and Singtel for firmware updates as they are both service provider models. Only MR issued Archer BE805 is not locked to MR.

Other 10G capable routers: most of them will be more expensive than going with the following two options.
a) 5Gbps plan: S$55.39 per month 5Gbps with TP-Link EB810v (using XGS-PON ONT)
b) 10Gbps plan: S$59.99 per month plus one time S$50 top-up for the TP-Link Archer BE805 (using XGS-PON ONT)

1) Asus RT-AX89X dual band WiFi 6 AX6000, no 6GHz band
2) Asus ROG GT-BE98 (S$1099) or ZenWiFi BQ16 WiFi 7 (S$898), quad band WiFi 7
3) Ubiquiti UDM Pro (S$599) or UDM SE (S$799), wired only, no wireless
4) Xiaomi BE10000 (RMB 1599) triband BE10000, no 6GHz band
5) Asus RT-BE88U dual band BE7200, no 6GHz band
6) TP-Link Archer BE800 triband BE19000 or Deco BE85 triband BE22000
7) Netgear Nighthawk RS700S or Orbi 970 (super expensive)
8) Mini PC based -- Intel N100/N305, Atom C3758R based, or higher end Intel 12th/13th gen CPU based, with dual or quad SFP+ ports
...

Cheap 5Gbps option if not using Starhub issued router, using Xiaomi solution

1) Xiaomi BE10000 as main router, RMB 1599 (no 6GHz band)
https://www.mi.com/shop/buy/detail?product_id=18030
2) Optional Xiaomi four-port 2.5G switch with two SFP+ ports as the main switch, RMB299 (there are of course cheaper alternatives but not branded)
https://www.mi.com/shop/buy/detail?product_id=20072

3) Connection scheme 1
XGS-PON ONT -->Xiaomi BE10000 10G WAN port
Xiaomi BE10000 10G SFP+ LAN port and SFP+ module --> 10G capble wired device
Xiaomi BE10000 2.5G LAN ports --> 2.5G wired devices or AP (eg: Xiaomi BE5000)

4) Connection scheme 2
XGS-PON ONT -->Xiaomi BE10000 10G WAN port
Xiaomi BE10000 10G SFP+ LAN port --> DAC cable --> Xiaomi 2.5G switch SFP+ uplink
Xiaomi BE10000 2.5G LAN ports --> 2.5G wired devices
Xiaomi 2.5G switch SFP+ and SFP+ module --> 10G capble wired device
Xiaomi 2.5G switch 2.5G LAN ports --> 2.5G wired devices or AP ( (eg: Xiaomi BE5000)

Actually SH should offer their internet plan without router at a lower price and let user buy their own router. There are many routers available in the market.

Anyone on MyRepublic 10Gb/s getting lower and lower download speed?
Used to be at 7500++Mb/s for DL speed.
:LOL:
more people jump to MR when you post the high speed. since bandwitdth is shared....

Haha.

MR -- initially the only 10Gbps offering with XGS-PON ONT (SH was initially offering XGS-PON ONR for the 10Gbps plan), so quite some power users chose to go with MR 10Gbps plan.

SH -- initially and even now, more for the contents bundling for the 10Gbps plan (like EPL), which attracts quite some customers. Later also for the lower cost 5Gbps plan.

On the other hand, I tend to think SH/MR will be able to sort out the backend issue later.

In the mean time, for those who do not need the content bundling, SH 5Gbps plan (with ONT, with or without TP-Link EB810v) may be a better option to go while SH/MR are fixing their backend issues which cause speed drop during peak hours.

Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps plan are still an option for those who want to take a bit of risk and bridge the ZTE ONR by themselves. In that case, you can use your own router to its full ability. The good thing is that Singtel backend seems to be okay to cope with 5Gbps/10Gbps users up to now. But I do not know if that is because there are less 5Gbps/10Gbps users on the Singtel side or not.

Take note Singtel issues with regard to internation routing issues will still be there but it may or may not be an issue for the users.

From Singtel 5Gbps thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-5gbps-enhanced.7030365/page-5#post-152967145
The recent ZTE ONR given by SingTel can be bridged easily.
Use the 'support' account to login to the web GUI. The passwd is the reverse of thepassword printed on the ZTE label.
I only bridge 'Port 5' - which is the 10G port. I'm not using the other 4 ports.

Yes, that is a good option for the users with a bit of technical knowledge and want to take a bit of technical risks.

However, there is still an issue with the ONR. You have to agree with Singtel's term and conditions when upgrading the FW of the ONR. And technically Singtel can push a profile which unbriged the ONR (but I doubt they will do so). Some users may not be happy to grant Singtel the rights to access the user's devices.

I tend to think it is not a big issue though if you bridge the ONR and use only the bridged port. Then Singtel should not be able to access your router and the devices behind your own router.

Not really forgotten, but rather Starhub wants to gain as many customers as possible first to make it more profitable. I believe they are also boosting their backend at the same time, but that may take a while.

It could be that Stathub/MR would overtake SingTel as the No 1 consumer ISP.

Reporting in for SH 10gbps speeds

12am: Up/Down: 8013 / 4807
8pm peak: up/down; roughly 5500 / 4800

Uploads seem to always hover around 5gbps.

I'm using cat 5e cables (est. total length from ONT to PC maybe 30m.)

The UL was indeed capped due to some QoS on my part. The upload speeds have now increased over the ~5gbps UL limit that I kept on seeing.

Also again, very thankful that my Cat5e cables can manage the 10gbps network speeds.

I suggest you complain. I also la and i think they are working on it as many complaints but just need to wait. In CNA news it is written very clearly. May be waiting for some supplier to tender to supply the equipment they need in their back end. Usually big company are like that.
