yes.

4x 1gbps lan port. combined max downstream is 2.5gbps.
Its an ONR

can request for single 2.5gb downstream onr or not ah ?
my pfsense support 2.5g

Basically VQ 2.5Gbps plan is not a true 2.5Gbps plan but rather an aggregated 2.5Gbps plan, same as Whizcomms 2.5Gbp plan and Singtel 2.5Gbps plan, single network, using GPON ONR. Each ONR LAN port is up to 1Gbps download/upload. Total combined download bandwidth is 2.5Gbps and total combined upload bandwidth is1.25Gbps (GPON limitation).

The ISPs will not give you an ONR with 2.5G LAN port. If you are really keen, you can try to replace the ISP's ONR with a GPON ONU or GPON Stick. There are successful reports for M1/MR/Singtel to replace the GPON ONT/ONR with GPON ONU or GPON Stick.

The other way is to get higher bandwidth is probably to use Dual WAN Load Balancing feature of your pfSense router and see if that works or not. This works with Singtel and WC 2.5Gbps plan, with or without bridging the ONR.

VQ will not help bridging the ONR for 2Gbps/2.5Gbps plan. And nobody has reported the briding of the VQ ONR for 2Gbps/2.5Gbps plan. I suspect it can be done technically. For Singtel/WC ONR, there are quite successful stories.

Personally I do not like to use ONR, but it is said VQ ONR has a bit better feature compared to Singtel/WC GPON ONRs.

BTW, SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan is a true 2.5Gbps plan where you get a GPON ONT with single 2.5G LAN port. But SIMBA has its own problems -- using CGNAT without static IPv4 add-on, slow speed, unproven stability, etc.

feel threaten and he is also got altitude issue... sigh
hahahaha, not siding with him nor criticise you but there's some people that is real sensitive to "attitudes", so its pretty subjective.
I mean, end of the day, technician is there to resolve the issue ideally, and if they did, then I cannot be bothered with anything else since objective is achieved. 🤷‍♂️

I need a little help if anyone has had any similar experiences.

I'm current on VQ's 2gbps plan and I'm having issues with portforwarded traffic on some of my services. I tested my link speeds with iperf over my self hosted vpn and iperf as a direct port forward, and both tests show that my up/down speed is capped to 100mbps for some reason. But that was from outside the network, within my home network the speeds are closer to gigabit speeds. So that led me to believe that there's an issue on VQ's side or some configuration on my ONR. I contacted them once and outlined whatever I just mentioned and they found nothing after their "investigations" so I'm at a loss here.

I haven't tested my other open ports but they seem to be working fine, I can even hit near gigabit speeds for p2p downloads

Upgrade to VQ 3Gbps plan and no need to deal with the unbridged ONR any more.

Just in time as well since i just got some 2.5gbe + 10g sfp+ switches for my internal connections

I'm not liking the part where they're changing the price of Static IP through the years.
Mine's still at $3.04 per month. So am just a little worried that the new plan might override my current Static IP add-on even though I don't see the add-on in my Portal but it's just there. Hope they maintain it so I can continue to have this pricing through the new plan.
