1Gbps fibre singtel plan.

Im doing this:

Singtel ONR LAN port 1 -- Singtel Mesh Router (automatically run in AP mode)
-- Singtel Mesh Router LAN port 2 -- PC desktop
-- Singtel Mesh Router LAN port 1 -- NAS
Singtel ONR LAN port 2 -- Singtel TV box

Somehow, the mesh router only can detect packets from my desktop but not my NAS, i see this from the packet statistics, which means only my desktop can get connection but my NAS does not

That should not happen. You may want to check your cable connection.

But even with the unbridged Singtel ONR, you can use your own router and no need to use Singtel issued router.
1) use your own router in AP mode (lose many firmware features of the router, wireless related features will work)

Hi xiaofan, is it sensible to get a good router like the Asus RT-AXE7800 to act as an AP? im mainly concerned if i will be able to use its range & wifi6e

It depends on the situation.

As mentioned in the earlier answer, you can go with either AP mode (no Double NAT) or Router mode (Double NAT). Sometimes you have to go with AP mode if you want AIMesh to work.

Eg: in the following configuration, the main AImesh node has to be in AP mode and not router mode in order to get AImesh working.
ONR -- Asus RT-AXE7800 in AP mode, main AImesh node
ONR -- Asus ZenWiFi XD6, AImesh mesh node
ONR -- Asus ZenWiFi XD6, AImesh mesh node

To avoid going into such trade-off situation in the first place -- avoid ISPs using ONR, basically avoid Singtel and Whizcomms, as well as VQ 2Gbps plan. I do not recommend Singtel to new users because of the use of ONR.

But if you are already in the situation using ONR and there are reasons you have to stick to the ISP, then you may want to consider Double NAT if it does not cause problem for you.

FYI, previously Singtel bundled Asus GT-AX11000 Pro with Singtel 10Gbps plan and set it up in AP mode. Now they are bundling TP-Link HB810 with the 10Gbps plan and configure it in AP mode as well. Singtel 10Gbps plan use ONR as well.

As far as I know, there is no publicly known way to bridge the Nokia ONR G-240G-E by yourself (can only be bridged by Singtel). And Singtel has stopped entertaining new bridging request since March 2022. So you are stuck with the unbriged Nokia ONR.

But even with the unbridged Singtel ONR, you can use your own router and no need to use Singtel issued router.
1) use your own router in AP mode (lose many firmware features of the router, wireless related features will work)
2) use your own router in router mode (Double NAT). This should keeps many firmware features working (some features may not work).

What is your own router? If it is a good one, then you can set it up in router mode and live with the limitations of Double NAT.

I logged in with the technical support account, bridged the WAN and LAN ports together, and configured my own router's VLAN ID to 10 to achieve bridging.
