So this screen mean not working? Loading screen for 10 min already. Using windows laptop.

I remember there are reports that the two special offer links (both ONR and ONT options) do not work for existing Starhub users, unless you are the targeted customer (for the ONR link).

You may want to clarify with Starhub.

As an existing customer when I click subscribe now, it show my home address and eligible for upgrade and I press upgrade now but on select routers page is loading screen forever.

I recall that I also experienced this issue back then, and I had to disable all my ad-blocker browser extensions temporarily for the process to go through.

Actually surprised me.. at this scenario unifi is cheaper than I thought:
u7 pro $189
flex 10GbE $299
These are official prices

I thought to suggest orbi 970 series but that 2 unit combo already exceeds the budget

Yeah u7pro is cheap, because essentially it's just an access point. But it being 2x2, 2.5gbps uplink and lack of MLO/AFC is a bit sad...

Take note that U7 Pro and U7 Pro Max (not yet available in Singapore) only have 2.5G WAN port.

Netgear Orbi 970 price is exhorbitantly high. No idea why they think they can charge that high price.

On the other hand, 10G capable WiFi 7 routers are still expensive. TP-Link Archer BE805 is probably the cheapest one for consumer models.

Cheaper 10G capable WiFi 7 routers models are usually bundled by the ISPs.
TP-Link EB810v -- service provider model, locked to Starhub for FW updates, not recommended for other ISP users.
TP-Link HB810 -- service provider model, locked to Singtel for FW updates, not recommended for other ISP users.
TP-Link Archer BE805 -- offered by MR, okay for average users.
Amazon eero Max 7 -- offerd by VQ and SIMBA. Some people like it, some hate it.

Honestly, was thinking of picking up 2x EB810V from secondary market but resellers losing their mind with their prices on carou being more expensive than starhub itself lol. I do have a friend that might let go of his TPlink GE800 for $600 each so that's a viable option (his wife hates the size of it).

If need to pay the 61 dollars, and starhub charges 30 dollars for termination, that's estimated additional cost of around 90 dollars, around 3 months of service.

Need to wait for others feedback to see if they do charge the NLT fee in the first bill.
yeah not quite worth it as it brings cost to around $33+/month, esp if u do not have router that can take full adv of 5gbps

after 2 years, they will revert price to original

i doubt there's significant improvement for average user if jumping from 500mbps to 5gbps

even for the starhub ONR offer, still need pay this NLT fee right?

has m1 will subsidise this NLT fee for promotions?

can't recontract the ONR/ONT $29.55 plan even though i'm no longer under any contract for a few months. Is it possible to just sign up as a new account at the same address under a different family member's name and cancel my current subscription after the new one is activated?

The recommendation is for new sign-up for plans at around S$30 per month. For existing M1/Starhub 500Mbps customers (plan no longer offered) paying S$30.45 per month, no issues to stay as the price remains the same after recontract.

M1 lowest cost is M1 1Gbps plan at S$36.90 per month. That is a fine option as well but I tend to think the price will go down soon.

Main issues now for SIMBA, at least from the reports, are the following
1) Stability issue
2) Lack of support
3) Bad connection to Singtel and maybe Starhub. Quite some SG websites and services are hosted on Singtel/Starhub network. Bad routing to China -- but this may only affect some customers.
4) Clear documentation to metion the router to be used. SIMBA does offer Amazon eerom Max 7 at discounter price.
5) No digital voice -- only affected some users. May not be an issue for many users.
6) CGNAT without Static IPv4 add-on. SIMBA 10Gbps has native IPv6 which may help but it may still be an issue for those want to have a public IPv4 address. This may not affect majority of the users, but

#1 and #2 are the main problems I can not recommend SIMBA to average users.

Power users know their use cases well -- so it is usually not an issue to go with their choice of ISPs. But I would not recommend power users to go for SIMBA either because of #3 and #6.

So what low cost (around S$30) plan will I recommend now for new sign-up?

1) Average users who need a wireless router to get started and do not mind using ONR.

Starhub special 5Gbps offer with Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR
(10G capable with one 10G LAN port, with AX6000 WiFi, cannot change to ONT) and one Nokia Beacon 2 to form a mesh

2) For power users who want to use their own router and want ONT

Starhub special 5Gbps offer with ONT -- Not so sure if the link will be valid for long.

Previously there was no successful report of installation done with the above link. Today we have the first confirmation that Starhub does honor the above link and installed the ONT to the user who use the link to subscribe to Starhub 5Gbps plan with ONT.

Just to share, I used the ONT link shared here:

https://www.starhub.com/personal/st...speed-5gbps-ont-at-2955_ultraspeed-5gbps.html

The StarHub person just came and installed the Nokia ONT and gave free Nokia Beacon 2. He asked me a few times if I want the ONR instead as he said the beacon 2 cannot support the 5Gbps. I say it’s ok, I’ll use back my current mesh (which is slow Deco M5) but will upgrade next time.

Comparison of SIMBA 10Gbps plan, WC 10Gbps plan and Starhub 5Gbps special offer -- for average users who do not mind using ONR

Power users do not like ONR. But ONR provides cheap setup to achieve 10Gbps.
And at least WC 10Gbps and Starhub 5Gbps plan will be more stable than SIMBA 10Gbps as of now.

For power users, better go with VQ 10Gbps (ONT) and Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps plan with ONT option.

For average users, Starhub 5Gbps special offer has the best value now.

1) SIMBA 10Gbps --> S$29.99 per 30 days, using CGNAT (no public IPv4 address), IPv6 supported.

The user needs to get his own wireless router. 10G capable wireless router is not cheap. If the user opts to use 2.5G capable main wireless router, the plan becomes 2.5Gbps. If the user opts to use 1G capable main wireless router, the plan becomes 1Gbps.

2) WC 10Gbps --> S$29.99 per month, 10G capable ONR provided, not using CGNAT (with public IPv4 address). No support of IPv6

The ONR is the main router for the home network. The user needs to get his own wireless router. 10G capable wireless router is not cheap. But the user can reuse his own 1G or 2.5G wireless router. It is still possble to use one 10G wired device since the ONR has one 10G LAN port. WC alsp provides another option with HB810 bundle but that is totally not worth it at S$58.90 per month.

3) Starhub 5Gbps special offer with Nokia XS-2426X-A all-in-one ONR --> S$29.55 per month. Not using CGNAT, with public IPv4. IPv6 is also supported.

The user does not need to buy his own router to enjoy 10Gbps. And it includes one Nokia Beacon 2 which can be used as a mesh node (1Gbps capable only mesh node). It is also cheap to get second Nokia Beacon if more mesh nodes are needed.

I am not saying the Nokia Beacon 2 or even the Nokia XS-2426X-A is good, it is just that this is the cheapest way to get the user started.

Starhub has fixed its backend congestion issue and now publish typical speed for 5Gbps and 10Gbps plan.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband/typical-broadband-speed-plans.html

Typical Download SpeedsLocal
1Gbps970 Mbps – 975 Mbps
5Gbps4116 Mbps - 4783 Mbps
10Gbps7599 Mbps – 8231 Mbps

Since last night the special ONT page fail to load properly after selecting my home address despite showing eligible for upgrade, I shall try again later, if still cannot that mean really not for existing user. 🙃

Tested last night using Mac, Windows and iOS with Firefox, Edge and Chrome without any extension or ad-blocker, so far all cannot go through after selecting my home address, it will be a blank square loading at router selection page.

Try adding starhub as exemption in your browser's cookie restriction.

Give up, using all sort of browsers and operating system, all cannot pass through the forever square loading icon blank router selection page. Too bad, not fated for existing user.
Last one, try using the normal $45 plan first up until the summary or when you can select schedule... then replace the url with the 29.55 plan and redo signup with this plan.
I was able to reach until summary with this. However I did not continue further as I am shifting home. I will retry once I have transferred my broadband.

Btw, do you guys think the TV device bundle is okay (samsung, xiomi or prism 55")? My 9yo TV is already showing its age and does not support disney and amazon streaming... just considering in case I am unable to get the 29.55 plan as an existing customer. Otherwise I may really need to jump to M1 plan.
