I was at HN Westgate yesterday, there was a 55" model selling for $1,499, forgot to check the model specific. Its been a long 10 years since I bought my last TV.

Setting a Budget of $1k for simple TV watching and Netflix, anyone has seen a model with this price?

Thanks bro, I am surprised that panels are no longer made in Japan or Korea now as highlighted by HN Sales staff.

Hi guys, my x85j yesterday suddenly went black and that's it. Off power and on still the same. Can see back light only. Press direction button still got sound though.

Still got one month before warranty ends. Will I be charged for extra fees?

One day ago I saw the screen flickering.. So scary 3 years soon and tv just die. I thought sony quality was good...
That's why I paid a bit more for 5 years warranty. TVs these days ..... 😪
My 2020 Philips died 3 months post-warranty while my 2003 Samsung lasted 13 years!

Sony guy came, took him only 2 mins. Press my tv screen, tell me panel gone case. Ask me wait for stock to come in to do replacement. Lucky me 1 month before warranty expires.

Ya, did the Sony guy comment that it doesn't matter whether higher or lower end panels?
All don't last as long as they used to.

My friend Samsung too. Not sure if because bedroom TV I most of the time use when aircon is on? So less heat and panel can last longer? Haha

Also depends how long you use it for. I don't think people use more than 3hrs a day for bedroom? Compared to say living room.

My living room TV will be in screensaver / wallpaper mode or just running some CNA live in the background.

When actively watching it'll be sports streaming or Netflix / YouTube.
