Try swtich to TV channels and see if you can hear sound with blank screen if so then is backlight
Not possible because it is not a connected to the digital DTV-2 antenna, its link to TV BOX so now cannot see to press the menu to live channel on the box.

I received my new toy, Sony Bravia 8 II yesterday. Satisfied the performance; contrast is superb, with vivid colors. I would say OLED panel really brings out the details and makes the movie pop.
Found a brochure on the box which SONY offers 24 months of FREE streaming + 10 movie credits.
Did you guys claims this 24 months Free streaming on SONY PICTURE CORE?
I have a sony home theatre system connected to this new Sony tv. Everytime when I turn on the TV, it will atuomatically activate and turn on the home theatre system. Is there a setting which I can disable the home theatre system as a default audio???

Bad news or good news? Is TCL famous for their displays?
Quality may drop... =(

Near future probably will be Bravia outside, TCL inside.

For those wanting to buy/change TV to Sony, imho, better do it latest on Black Friday(NOV 2026)

For the Sony Picture Core, think just need to register account when u open the app to start using and to claim the 10 movie credits(expiring in 24mths)
24-mths free streaming is streaming of content that is already in your library - limited selection and older shows.

the 10 movie credits will come in handy to redeem those latest shows (2025, 2026) - 1 movie credit = 1 movie. After redeem, stays in your library.

TCL will offer Oled panel in 2027, same yr as Sony + TCL. Currently Sony take their oled panel from Samsung and LG and it cost a lot more. I’m quite excited with how TCL oled will turn out.

I just hope it's not a race to the bottom to satisfy those who just want cheap prices..
Whilst top drawer items are not the best sellers, selling based only on price is not a good thing.... a TV is something I'll look at and pay for quality, I may not go crazy and pay super high prices, but I do want quality and am prepared to pay for it.
TCL does have good panels, the questions is how much will quality cost or will it be sacrificed to keep those who only want cheap stuff happy..

a lot of sushi land brands their business are taken over by dragonland brands this is a known fact...

TCL for now they do not have OLED yet rite?

i wonder by merging with TCL to come out a new company to manage the bravia business, will they even stop bravia OLED series?

so far i haven't tasted OLED for TV yet. Got Bravia 7 a year ago, so for now, yeah i'm good with 7 series. haha

u must really try OLED, once u tried, u will never be able to go back to LED, including mini-LED.

:p

it is something that u never try u will never feel that u need it, but if tried, then everything is different.
