When you say "strongest" you need to see what you mean exactly.

Caffeine levels ? Then Robusta in general have more caffeine than Arabica beans, and taste more "full bodied"

Nespresso started a very confusing "Intensity" for their capsules but most of the time it has some relationship to caffeine levels.
yes sir. Caffiene level. :s13:

filter cofee actually 2-3x stronger than espresso, because longer extraction time.
but those drinking kopitiam probably referring to more bitter, more aroma and fuller body (gao-ness) when they say they want strong coffee

my max is probably 2 filter coffee only within one hour, after that hand start trembling already, how to do latte art when trembling 😅

I already lock the door, by right staff cannot open. Maybe be after check out time, the gals haven't check out, so staff went up to check, housekeeping got keys.
Yes, by right staff cannot open but like you said, if it's after checkout time, one should expect that to happen. Each time I'm granted late checkout, I'll automatically be more alert after noon if I'm still in the room. Otherwise my stuff would be all packed and locked by noon, if I've to leave the room.

If inside the room, always latch the door. Use a door-stopper if deem necessary.

Never take things for granted.

The ( slimmer ) owner teaches latte art.
If not too busy when you order a latte you can enquire if can bring you through. The more latte u order the more time * with * her 🥰

Vietnamese kopi mostly Robusta but depending on roasters they do also mix other stuffs e.g cacao during the roasting to give that additional flavor.

Many many years ago their coffee industry was (unfairly) "criminalized" for burning rubber tyres during roasting for that different taste. But so many years have passed I also not sure if it is/was an urban legend anymore.

I do enjoy Vietnamese coffee.
Since u guys is so much into coffee, let me share a coffee joke

One of the bro here stay airbnb, after checkout time, they still inside. The cleaner open the door and surprise them.
Should be similar case.
When I was in Melaka, many people late check out airbnb, I think hotel too. So if you are late, don't be surprise.

PS: My favourite airbnb digital door lock. Check out time is 11am. I reach 10.50am the door cannot open
Another time I'm late after breakfast, grab driver come late, reach airbnb 11.05am again door lock cannot open.

I had the most delicious Vietnamese coffee in Japan recently (not even Vietnam) ! Not sure what they did with the coffee or the condensed milk, but then Japan being Japan, they just get everything right including using condensed milk.
I had the best vietnamese iced coffee in California 30 years ago in pho shops, have been trying to create the same taste but failed.

I had bought the metal filter and coffee powder from Vietnam but just could not get the same taste. Accidentally, I noticed that if u put a papper filter in the metal filter the coffee taste stronger and better.

I think it has to do with the condensed milk.

Yeah, and robusta beans usually more acidic right ? And I feel that with more acidic beans / coffee, they taste better with sweet stuff either eaten with sweet stuff or in Vietnamese or Nanyang coffee's case, using condensed milk actually complements it a lot.

No idea what the Japanese ones added ! I was wondering at some point whether they used arabica beans instead and use condensed milk ala Viet style. It was like the best condensed milk coffee I ever had ! I remember wanting to order another one immediately when I finished but had to resist it otherwise will have heart palpitations !

Yikes at the rubber tyres !!

Can forget about this hotel liao, 2-3 star and now got this problem.

Give it a few months, it'll blow over and no one will remember it anymore. Lol

Such is the nature of news these days.

Bottomline, nobody died = no need for authority interference = safe to proceed Lol

If one locks the door from inside, can anyone still barge in, let alone open the door?

I've a habit of locking the door after I enter the room, unless I just want to retrieve something and leave within 30 seconds.

No matter how high-class a hotel, there'll still be the risk of drunk or mental guests/neighbors too.

Some people feel very comfortable as if staying at home, just walk in and will forget to lock the door from inside. I'm one of those :s13: and it will freak my hubs out. Always kena nagged for not locking the door from the inside. Also, coming from Singapore will make one start to take safety for granted. That's why need to go JB now and again for humble reminders. 😅

A lighter roast or underextraction may increase "acidity " but yes adding milk is magic.

One thing I like about many japanese independent coffee shops is they usually try to provide alternate (arabica) beans apart from ( unlabelled ) house blends.

You can have your house blends in a hopper for convenient fast grinding, and a separate single dose grinder for occasional Arabica varietal orders. but mafan needs more time, needs to weigh before grind per shot, very taxing on barista competence, and can introduce more variability in cup. Even a small sandwich shop I went in Osaka offered 2 Arabica varietals, but their single dose grinder is manual hand grinding. shag.
