SG's food portion is also smaller and lower quality in my opinion, if you compare to e.g Japan.

For the same price, their ingredients are of slightly higher quality and also more filling. Yoshinoya, Matsuya, Sukiya and neighbourhood Bento/Udon shops might be generally of better quality.

lets look from another angle. vote them in also wont increase food cost so why not.
Imo why not is simply cuz no better alternative. Aiya no party / gov is perfect, ppl kpkb regardless but to vote them out must at least be grounded on better alternative.

The stat analysis like no logic

Why compare prices with median income. Like that sure no issue wat. I can also compare sg prices with top 10%. Then say sg is cheap no issues.

They need to set a poverty line, ppl with limited access to food water shelter

Curious if he is referring to the $3/$3.50 kind of budget meal that are low on nutritional value. In addition, still have to top-up to get a drink too. Or the $4 breakfast set with 2 eggs/2 breads and 1 kopi or tea kind?

Salaries of the President, Prime Minister, Ministers & MPs in Singapore (Summary)

  • The annual salary of Singapore’s president is $1,540,000
  • The annual salary of Singapore’s prime minister (PM) is $2,200,000
  • An entry-level minister in Singapore draws a salary of $1,100,000 per year
  • An elected member of parliament (MP) earns an allowance of $192,500 per year
The lowest lifeform in parliament gets an allowance of 192K per year. Allowance only ok.
Their 0.1% is $19.25
Of course these lifeforms are not going to be affected by any price increases.

According to IRAS statistics and MOM, we have 3.8 million employed persons, but only 2.2 million of them earn more than 20K and pay income tax. There are 1.6 million people who earn less than 20K per year.and pay no income tax at all

5K is the median income for those who pay income tax.

Whenever they take out statistics to support their own views, means they are unable to convince ppl, need to use data to support.

Moi don't understand sinkie obsession with car. Tiny island yet everyone kpkb car expensive like they somehow think it's physically possible for majority to drive.

If got millions of car in road, then jam will kpkb why gov never stop this.
Then some households shouldnt have 2 cars just because they claim to be professionals.

For the two examples, you want govt to just give out land cheaply and then we have not enough land to build other infrastructure and too many cars on the roads resulting in hours of jams on the road?
No, govt shouldn't allow public housing prices to escalate out of control like it has. And to put in measures to ensure families are prioritized for housing and private transport.

Median includes PRs. Last time, oppo asked for a breakdown of the statistics, our dear MoM ministar claimed that such a move would harm social compact. And yet this joker, still wants to quote median.

This is classic gaslighting.
Not just PR, but all foreigners too as it is SG median income but sg resident median income or the actual that should be used which is sg citizen median income.

We have close to 50% or maybe even more foreigners in sg and sg median income can be very biased too

a hawker meal = $5.50
last increase from $4.00, increase = 37.5%(food) against 5.83%(salary) cheap or ex?
Nominal incomes increased at a faster pace this year compared with last year, with the nominal median gross monthly income increasing from S$5,197 (US$3,880) to S$5,500, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said in an advance release of its labour force report.
