They have been adding quite a few new restaurants (hotel and non-hotel) to the Love Dining program these past few months, which is good.

To the earlier question, Citi Prestige suppli card holder has no Priority Pass membership. As for UOB Visa, i think none too if I remember correctly (was a member 7-8 years ago, but cancelled it as found it pretty useless). I have been a Citi Prestige member since their launch, almost a decade now. I find it pretty useless other than storing all my air Thankyou points in there (which does not expire). Renewal this month and thinking of canceling it but that means i will have to find an airline program to transfer all the accumulated points over to and track their expiry.

Question for cardholders. Do you keep your MR points in your Amex account and use it to pay for air tickets or hotel stays (either fully by points or cash+points combo) or do you transfer it to airline loyalty program ?

Keep as MR. No expiry for plat charge card.
redeem to miles as you need it. 1-3 days.

Best part is no transfer fee and small blocks, so very useful for rounding up balances on the airline side.

How do u all spend the porter $75?

How to join como?

Use it to buy aseop products so no need to spend more money to buy stuffs that you don't need.

Amex has a link for joining COMO, Google search.

Quick one, guys. I been holding plat charge card for nearly half year now and don’t see how it’s worth the 1.7k AF. Let’s just talk about the points. I have around 112k points. If i use it to pay for statement, some bills’ concersion rate is 1000:$6. So i got about 600 for these 112k points. But people on fb group saying it’s a bad idea to use points as statement credit and i shall use as miles instead? I must be missing something. I checked that if i convert it to cathay’s Asia Miles, the points also worth around $600 only. Even if i dont convert and use Amex Travel site, it seems like 11k points also worth around 600+- only. What did i missed? Are they in fact about the same, in Singapore’s context?

The 200 off SQ for min 600 is okay. The free night and restaurants can use, too

Netflix/Disney I just subscribe, but not really using

112k points is about 70k miles. I just use Japan as example, 1 way economy ticket from Nagoya to Singapore cost around SGD845 for tomorrow flight, you can redeem the same flight for 27k miles. The value of miles are way higher than 600, I would say 900-1000 is a fairer value. I also gotten this card early this year and so far have made use of the dining credit of 400, air tickets credit of 200, 1 night stay at Ritz, 2 x 260 comoclub vouchers, 75 credit for Mr porter etc. I have already gotten my 1.7k back with 87k miles as bonus.

Hey man thanks heaps for the detailed reply. May i ask which airline you are using? I tried cathay’s Asia Miles and directly use Amex Travel flights (tried to pay with points) both showing my points worth around 600-800

Best use is probably Marriott Bonvoy. 112k can transfer 1:1 into Bonvoy's programme, and redeem for hotels valued around 1 cent per point or better.

That said, you're right that it isn't worth the $1.7k annual fee past the first year with sign up bonus.

The worth of miles is based on the cash cost of equivalent service you are redeeming. Go read milelion article on the cost of miles.

If you don't understand this then any miles card is not for you. Stick with Cashback cards.

I am using Krisflyer and SQ as example. You redeem award flights not use the points to offset fare of flights. Miles are not meant to be used to offset fare, that's why you get such low value. Almost nobody use miles to offset fare like you ask about.

You simply apply card without knowing what the card’s benefits are? Using this as a miles accrual card, it’s like using a spoon to eat noodles.

Count in all the $1094 statement credits, savings from love dining, platstay, HH gold, should just about be able to cover the $1744.

The $1094 "statement credit" is bullsh*t.

Love Dining benefit can be gotten using the Platinum credit card, which has waivable annual fee.
