I have signed up on 15 Dec and selected 24 Dec 2pm to 4pm. I received email for the order confirmation. No one turned up today. I called 1633 and they just simply told me the order is under "pending" and no appointment was made. If were to cancel, there are cancellation charges. Anyone has this issues?

EDIT: Proceeded with cancellation with "one time courtesy" of waiver
Then you should email to complain about the no show and ask SH for compensation and then call SH 1633 to ask for appointment slot and compensation. That time they never bring the router to my home and i got the compensation when i asked for it.

I would visit SG soon and stay at my sister's home. She use Starhub internet.

Is it safe download pirate stuff from https://novafile.org ?

I would download it using Chrome with free VPN. It's Zenmate free VPN extension for Chrome.

https://zenmate.com
Of course not safe. VPN only prevent people from knowing your ip address and no spyware and malware protection. It can be illegal to download such pirate stuff and you can get your sister into big trouble. The law here is strict so do not do it here. There are still ways that the police can get your ip address and information quite easily as they are government authority. Please do not put yourself at risk.

Hi all, I just signed up the promo $29.55 plan (ONT) + $2.14 landline on Sunday at Nex. I currently on M1 Fibre Plan with Home Tel included. I have planned to transfer my home tel. over to Starhub and was advised by the Starhub Rep that I proceed with my sign-up with a new home number first. Next, I have to go to M1 to debundle the internet and home tel. separately so I can transfer the home tel. I did as advised but after which I went to M1, I was told it is not possible to debundle from home tel. to port out.

Does anyone have experience on this? I did choose my favourite new number at Starhub as a precaution that I have to loose the current home number. But if it is doable, then I would not mind to do it too.

Have scheduled the set-up by Starhub on 4 Jan 2025.
ohh this deal also can walk in to Starhub to sign up ? that means can also walk into Plaza Sing starhub to sign up ?

I called in and asked about the appointment. No appointment because under pending. I also asked for available slots, they can't answer me too. Apparently the NLT port has been activated. I decided to cancel the order and proceed with Simba for my parent. Now no available port so end up have to wait.

Hi,
Came here cos I see that quite a few have been offered special prices from SH retention team (I suppose).

How's the 5gbps plan so far?

One qn I have is the team offered me an option with the ONT at $33.55 using TPLink EXT10

Hi,

Am thinking of switching to 5gbps plan as well at $33.55 (with ont TPLinkEX510). Offered by SH retention team.

Would like to know if anyone here uses this plan and how so far

Or even the one plan at $29.55. How is the plan so far. Have u needed to call for technical assistance?

Am a basic user of the internet (browsing, email word processing, some vid conferencing, movies).

Upgrading from 1gbps cos modem 10 yr's old and SH says server no longer hosting this modem (whatever tt means).

You were using old analog line when with ST? Or also digital voice?

This had been explained earlier in this thread.

Digital voice requires an ONT/ONR. If want to debundle digital voice with fibre, the digital voice would still need an ONT/ONR. But you only have the ONT/ONR for your fibre. So with digital voice cannot be debundled.

ST if using old analog line can be debundled since the line can exist on it’s own analog line.
i was using ST analogue line...

basic rule is, if you're doing something fishy, just use VPN to 'protect' yourself...

i would rather use a 'Paid' VPN for extra assurance...

'Free' VPN sounds sketchy to me:s22:

Same today 9am to 11am. No one turned up. Took leave for nothing. Stayed at Home for nothing. Called 1633 they asked me to call 1630. 1630 closed for today. Ridiculous!

Hi, yes you are right abt the profit thing.

It's just that though am v tempted to take the 5gbps plan, I have also read many complaints about the plan. A technician from SH even told me this has been the plan with the most complaints.

Based on what I've read, it seems to be the plan with the ONR that's giving the prob.

The router offered to me is not the 10gbps router not the onr. It's a TPLink EX510 (gotta check again).

Any idea and feedback about all that I've mentioned?
Technician told you 5Gbps plan has the most complaints. Did you ask said technician if 5Gbps plan was the most picked up?

Compared to the 1 and 2Gbps plans, these plans are in their infancy. Teething issues are expected. ONR is basically a one-stop service from Starhub to novice customers. Hence more issues.

Is Starhub offering you an ONT 5Gbps plan ($29.55) with a TP-Link EX510 ($4 x 24 months)? If so, decline their EX510 e-waste and request for a TP-Link HB710 router. They should have similar installment plan of $8 x 24 months or $192 cash & carry. This way you'll have a more enjoyable time with your internet. Don't let Starhub pass on e-waste to you while you pay them for it.

It's Christmas, a public holiday. Nothing ridiculous, just simple administrative error. Merry Christmas.

Nystalia1990's appointment was for 2-4PM on Christmas Eve. Operating hours are fluid during end of year, this applies to many industries. They felt apprehensive with the situation and cancelled instead of waiting. Went with Simba and again they need to wait.

Yes, error. Wouldn't be an error if they knew, informed and rectified it. Sometimes you don't know, what you don't know. Be more kind, open minded and patient. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

In that user situation, it's a case of miscommunication and the user rather "act now" as opposed to deliberating over the best course of action. People often feel the need to intervene when they are caught by surprise, as oppose to wait for the process to play out and work itself out. Outcome was utterly horrible unfortunately.

To be fair, most consumers would have no idea of the processes behind it and may not have made a better decision. However if you're on this forum, it is not excusable.

Now it'll be 2 additional service orders to rectify it, disconnect the connection to SH OLT, connect it to Simba OLT. Likely to incur a fee too unless SH decides to absorb it, since it would have been SH paying NLT fees to perform it.

SH still haven't tell me when they are coming. Very poor service
It's a public holiday today, and festive season yesterday, and going into the year end. Don't expect service anywhere to be great, unless you're paying a premium 😂

who wants to OT unless they are paid above market rate during this period?

I just got a call from starhub 1633 to confirm installation appointment (third attempt to connect). So they do work on xmas day. A previous installation attempt happened on a sunday too.

Had received many calls to confirm and update rectification status, though sometimes the staff dont know what is going on. 3 attempts to connect is not good.

So overall starhub's service has some hits, some misses.
