Because I have received a letter from singtel for "3Gbps enhanced plan at 39.90/mth", if i am not eligible for recontract, why singtel send the letter to me?

I am not interested in "3Gbps enhanced plan at 39.90/mth", i am interested in "5Gbps plan at 29.90/mth", hahaha

When Singtel sends you a targeted promotion, you can ignore the 21 months rule.

Anyway, no harm trying the 5Gbps offer. Let's see if they accept or not.

I think both offers are okay. The "3Gbps enhanced plan at 39.90/mth" targeted offer comes with a better HB611-SGST WiFi 7 router (2.5G capable). Some users may prefer that one.

Personally I will prefer the 5Gbps recontract offer (with lousy WiFi 6 router) at S$29.90 myself since I have my own better wireless routers. But unfortunately these new offers were not available at my recontract time frame (June to August 2024).

Anyway, my 5Gbps contract is much worse at S$49.90 per month since the recontract was done in August 2024. At that time I got only three options.
1) S$39.90 per month to keep the same 1Gbps plan with ONT (ONT recontract no longer available as per the reports).
2) S$39.95 per month for 2Gbps plan, need to change to GPON ONR
3) S$49.90 per month for 5Gbps plan, need to change to XGS-PON ONR.

In the end I chose to go with 5Gbps plan.

They sent me SMS offer in June 2024: S$42.90 per month for 2.5Gbps plan (SMS offer), need to change to GPON ONR. But I did not accept the offer.

Yup, I'm definitely taking it up haha. What I mean is I drag on my current plan a little first...until near the offer deadline, then I confirm recontract for this offer, so that 2 years later when I recontract again, I don't have to start searching so early (maximise the 24 months contract)
If you are currently paying about $40 for the 1Gbps plan and can recontract already at 20 months complete, if you drag until 24 month complete then recontract al last possible date, you pay $10.10 more per month (eg if you looking at 5Gbps at current $29.90 promo). That is $40.40 in total.

If there is no good promotion, then wait is Ok. Current $29.90 for 5Gbps is comparable with StarHub promo. 3Gbps promo like not meant for recontract or targeted customer. And higher subscription price.

I may go for this SingTel 5Gbps plan for my parents place (initially wanted to go for StarHub 5Gpbs ONT with digital voice) as still slightly cheaper than StarHub with current analog voice line. Just sian that it is ONR. Hope to get the ZTE and try to bridge it.

Hi, sorry I don't understand the first part...I'm at the 22nd month of my 1Gbps plan now...If I recontract at the 24th month, that's also ok right? And I will be charged with the new $29.90 per month for the next 24 months right?

It is OK. I’m just explaining my thoughts. That you pay more per month if you do not recontract earlier if there is a good promo. If you do not mind paying, just disregard what I said. You can recontract on the 24th month. Hopefully the $29.90 5Gbps ONR recontract plan still available and will be extended after 28th Feb. :)

Hi. Like to check My 1Gbps contract has ended and I am looking to recontract either the 2Gbos or 5Gbps SingTel plans. However, as my ONT will be changed to an ONR, I would like to check whether SingTel’s ONR have a WOL function for devices attached to it? For context, I currently have a Synology NAS attached to my Asus router. And I am able to log into my Asus router remotely and switch on the NAS using the Asus WOL function. Will I be able to do the same if the SingTel ONR replaces the Asus router? Thank you.

No, I do not think Singtel ONR has WOL features.

Just checked my ZTE F8648P ONR and it does not have such feature. I do not have Nokia XS-240X-A ONR but I believe it is the same.

If you want to take risks, then it is usually possible to bridge the ONR and then use your current Asus router or another one with WOL support. As per the reports, most of the ZTE F8648P users are able to bridge the ONR as of now. But some users reported that they were not able to bridge the ZTE F8648P ONR. There are also a few reports of successful bridging of Nokia XS-240X-A ONR. YMMV.

There are also rumors which mentioned that Singtel may change something on the ONR or the backend to make it nearly impossible to bridge the ONR in the future. But that has not materialized yet. I am still able to use my ZTE F8648P in bridged mode.

Reference: Singtel XGS-PON ONR Bridging (mostly about ZTE F8648P ONR bridging, but Page 14 has one link for the Nokia XS-240X-A ONR bridging).
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-10gbps-zte-f8648p-superadmin-password.6946718/

If you want to play safe and stick with an ISP using ONT, it is time to move out of Singtel.

Good news, Singtel has extended the support of some of the old routers (Singtel Mesh Router AC1900 and Singtel Mesh Extender AC2600). On the other hand, if you have done the recontract, then you will get newer WiFi 6 or WiFi 7 routers.

Probably too early and your order will get rejected. But no harm trying. Let's see if they accept or not.

Make sure that they do not charge you early termination fee and then accept your order. I believe that will not happen, but you just need to be cautious.

The terms and conditions of the offer:
//www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-dm/fibre-5g
//www.singtel.com/content/dam/singtel/Ads_TermsAndConditions/fibre-recon-jan-2025-1a.pdf
All offers are valid till 28 February 2025 and for existing Fibre Broadband customers only. Promotion is valid
for existing Singtel Fibre Broadband customers and who have fulfilled at least 21 months of their 24 month
Fibre Broadband contract.
Hi Xiaofan, appreciate all the info and links u have been posting!

Regarding this great offer you posted for 5GBPS at $29.90 for recontracting customers, I like to ask your advice:

I called SINGTEL 1688 to tell them I would like to recontract on this offer. They say i cannot as it is meant for targetted customers only - who have received the offer or link from SINGTEL directly. It is the same case for the 3Gbps at $39.90 offer. The Singtel agent told me even if i submit the form via the link provided, it will eventually be rejected by SINGTEL.

Any advice on how to proceed from here (besides changing telco!). I would like to remain with SINGTEL if possible. :)
I am currently on 1 Gbps ENhanced. Contract ending 10 Feb 25.
THANKS!

Just click the link. No harm trying.

Singtel has different sales channels and they may have conflict of interests sometimes.

Does Singtel Mesh Router have reboot schedule function?

I have a new Singtel Mesh Router, never used it before. I just open it and find that I can't login using "admin" and its provided password.

If it doesn't have reboot schedule function, i will throw it away.

You can try the link or the 5Gbps $29.90 first to see if it works.

If get rejected, then think of other plans.

From the terms and condition for this current 5 Gbps $29.90 promo, it seems like not mentioned it is for targeted customer only. The 3Gbps $29.90 promo did mention then.

Managed to recontract to the 5Gbps $29.90 plan via the link.

Yes, yes. I am the one who complains no ONT.

But price then don’t have $29.90. They offered $5x.xx for 5Gbps and don’t allow me to recontract to the 3Gbps plan as it was for targetted customer. Think StarHub $29.55 success make SingTel swallow their pride this time. Thanks, StarHub!

Hope to get the ZTE ONR so that can try to bridge.

Oh, of course can continue to use analog line (vs digital voice) and the free Disney plus, Amazon prime etc also a swaying factor to consider this ONR plan. So sorry for being fickle minded. :(

Update : TMD, give HB611 (Tplink), WAN only 2.5Gbps only. Need to get the Asus BT10 then. Haiz...

Hi bro, thank you so much for the update. Can I just confirm, when you recontracted, when is the effective start date of the new 24 month contract?

Is it only when Singtel comes down to your house to install everything?

Hi, I fill in the form via the website on 27th Jan.

Received the confirmation email next day.

Installation on 13th Feb but most likely will try to change this date as working.

Contract starts on 13th Feb once the service is activated as stated on the service agreement.

Managed to recontract to the 5Gbps $29.90 plan via the link.

...

Update : TMD, give HB611 (Tplink), WAN only 2.5Gbps only. Need to get the Asus BT10 then. Haiz...

Actually this is a very good deal for those who do not mind using ONR. The original link mentions Singtel AX5400 device. Now they seem to replace that with the much-better HB611-SGST (dual 2.5G ports, dual 1G ports).

Singtel 5Gbps recontract offer at S$29.90 per month --> Singtel ONR (wired) + HB611-SGST (dual 2.5G ports, dual 1G ports).

Starhub S$29.55 5Gbps offer ONT option --> no router given, top up for HB710 at S$192 (S$8 per month) or EB810v at S$360 (or S$15 per month)

Starhub S$29.55 5Gbps offer ONR option -->Nokia ONR (AX6000) + Nokia Beacon 2 (AX1800, 1Gbps only)

Starhub S$30.37 5Gbps recontract offer ONT option --> TP-Link EX510 (AX3000, 1Gbps only), top up for HB710 at S$192 (S$8 per month) or EB810v at S$360 (or S$15 per month)

Starhub S$30.37 5Gbps recontract offer ONR option -->Nokia ONR (AX6000) + one or two units of Nokia Beacon 2 (AX1800, 1Gbps only) --> now seems to have only one unit

++++ Singtel 5Gbps recontract link +++++++
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/broadband/eform/recon-dm/fibre-5g
5Gbps Enhanced plan at $29.90/mth (U.P. $95.90/mth)
Comes with 1 unit of Singtel AX5400 WiFi 6 mesh device

Fibre Plan includes:
Home Line
12 months of Disney+ Premium subscription on us (U.P. $18.98/mth applies thereafter)
12 months of Amazon Prime subscription on us (U.P. $4.99/mth applies thereafter)
12 months of Broadband Protect subscription on us (U.P. $3/mth applies thereafter)
