Producing energy will become cheaper, but energy costs will not.

This is ”Profits Above People” party, ok?
So cynical.

The profits also flow down to the people. SGreans have MASSIVELY higher salaries than people in many other countries.

Lawrence...we need to talk.

Can we first talk about nuclear waste disposal before jumping the gun to build the nuclear reactors..

Nuclear energy is a very touchy subject. Is nuclear energy truly clean when the by-product are dangerous radioactive elements?

I wish people would stop marketing nuclear as "clean energy" already. Wait for Fusion ok?

There was a time when Asbestos was marketing as the wonder material.

can dump under Pedro Branca ?

Seeing oil leaks by our own orgs, I don't really have much confidence in them properly dealing with the waste. Even as a nuclear energy proponent myself.

Even if they go with a fool-proof design like Molten Salt Reactor ("waste" gets recycled and consumed as fuel), somehow will still have daiji one... Look at our established MRT system as an example.

Will they tell us that they don't want to "over-maintain" the reactor(s) when something inevitably goes wrong under their administration?

how many of our things r outsourced?
will it be too late if theres a leak and leak reported?
by then who will go n settle the leak?????????

i rather sg slow down than to have nuclear

cannot even handle the NRIC, acra thing without giving us anxiety,
oil spill can say meet international standard.
nuclear this kind of thing, dont match with standard. its no room for leaks lor. if now we r v big ok but we r so small.
indonesia etc they build also not near mah.

if we (those that bother) feel that the agencies dont communicate much and hence has the nric issues, then what makes us feel ok n safe that suddenly all the agencies will be talking for the years to come regarding nuclear n its upgrade or maintenance???

So the logic is because they can be wrong about asbestos, they can't be trusted about nuclear? But if that's true then they can't be trusted about anything. How do you know that any new invention is safe?

The nuclear waste argument is also a red herring. Do some research on how much nuclear waste ks actually produced. Most people are surprised to learn that we aren't talking about tonnes of waste but more like grams per year for a small reactor.

Sure..we could wait for fusion first. But who is to say that fusion is safer.. after all they were wrong about asbestos.

If it's fusion reactors then no issues. It will not go chibaboom.

If fission reactors then good luck. With the way our generals run and maintain public infrastructure... Well you get the story.
You know fusion reactors can also explode right.. the only real difference is you won't be killed by radiation.. you would be killed by the steam explosion.
