He will be air-dropped to some ah kong company.
His role will be to talk rock and nothing executive.
Unless the operation is pretty SOP and he dun need to change anything, then it will suit him.
With his pattern, he will offend a lot of people if he is holding a high post.

Nothing against him.
But, he is becoming the next Ah Jin and saying things that will create the opposite effect even though that is not his intentions.
Share same sentiments too. Perhaps not really much of a difference from NCM/Ng Yat Chung now.

Funny how NCM has stayed silent on the topic of the failed NTUC-Allianz deal?

Perry Lim (and think Ng Jui Ping, if not wrong) was an anomaly?

After serving in Civil Service a while, then just stayed in Private sector all the way liao, think working in Royal Golden Eagle since Jan 2019.

Why not. Think if can see it through and through, local is an elitist society with an elitist system. Not that much different from the past dynastic one. Only minority can survive really well. And mostly at the expense of those below.

Difference perhaps is how they call themselves and the people who are at the top. But still is top few decide the life of people, thinking they are superior than others by virtue of the elitism they are associated with cause they are the ones that make it to the top.

Think meritocracy commonly known in Chinese is 精英主义, translate back to English is elitism. Just that local hide it under a different word and gave it a different interpretation.

But at the core, local is just concern about sieving the elites out. Often at the expense of the ordinary. Their suffering not so important. As long as pacify them with little gesture of benefits they happy liao.

Education is a major tool that local use to achieve that goal of having elites. If can observed, the process of elimination start young, from primary onwards.

Those that cannot take the formal education rigid and rigorous selection process, tend fallout along the way, and are perceived as failure of sort and often sideline by society. End up only the cream of the crop left, for local to pick and choose.

But there is no guarantee those who survived the rigorous education selection process will be elite. For there are only so much space up at the top for few only. The rest will still be somewhat mediocre in comparison. 比上不足比下有余.

Thus perhaps the resentment by many so called educated that despite their suffering and sacrifice to win the education race, they are no much better a winner in life still. Living somewhat sad and pathetic existence as long as they are not selected for the elites. :s22:

The deal may be directed by some one else.
Dun think he is the brain for it.
So, what can he say ?

As for all the boy scouts, not every one can attuned themselves to the real world.
They continue to sing their army song after they are out and expect their civilian ka kias to follow orders.
Heard too much of their stories from my friends.

The issue is that current elite like foreigners to overtake local. Why they doing so? Maintaining control over the locals. Is like serfdom. That's why anger build up in local. As for education, elite intend to build a society that can earn money to support them so they train up the locals with high education. As you say the places in elite is limited. Now they trying to dilute the society with lower educated by giving out pr and citizenship to blue collared foreigners. This way they can balanced the society and control it.

Recently a new corlick just joined my co.. her parents immigrated here from India in 2000s

Just realise then that kids born here to the 2000s wave of immigratnts are just now coming into the workforce, competing with those of sinkie families who have been here for generations

Can't help thinking, if her parents never came, most likely the job would have bene taken up by the latter instead.

Another reason why job market has become more competitive in recent years

Smart Nation and AI policy director resigns, third senior civil servant to quit ahead of GE2025

SINGAPORE – A senior civil servant overseeing Singapore’s Smart Nation and AI policies has resigned and is set to stand in the next general election.

Ms Goh Hanyan, a director in the Smart Nation Strategy Office and the national AI group for policy and strategy in the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), will leave the service on April 3, The Straits Times has learnt.

She is the third high-ranking civil servant known to step down ahead of the election so far, following the resignations of deputy secretary Jasmin Lau from the Ministry of Health and Mr Foo Cexiang, a director from the Ministry of Transport.

Ms Goh was involved in shaping Singapore’s refreshed Smart Nation plan, known as Smart Nation 2.0, as well as the coordination and implementation of the Republic’s refreshed National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.

Before her stint at MDDI, she was working on economy and sustainability under the strategy group in the Prime Minister’s Office for just under four years.

She had previously spent about a decade at the Economic Development Board, which included a three-year stint in Washington DC in the United States.

The Straits Times has contacted her for comment.

Her resignation comes ahead of a general election widely expected by mid-year.

The PAP has traditionally tapped public service leaders when sourcing for candidates. Those who are chosen to stand often resign in the lead-up to the election, as they are not allowed to participate in political activities while in service.

In the past, public servants have quit their roles close to the start of the hustings.

In the 2020 General Election, East Coast GRC MP Tan Kiat How, who was then chief executive of the Infocomm Media Development Authority, stepped down from his post on June 20. His resignation was publicly announced five days earlier.

The writ of election was issued on June 23, with July 10 set as Polling Day.

Mr Tan, who is now Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information as well as National Development, was one of the last resignations from the public service that year.

Mr Desmond Tan, who used to be chief executive of the People’s Association, left the public service slightly less than a month before Polling Day.

Agreed . Sinkies too comfortable, scared of many factors and most of them can’t fit into foreign environments….
Actually it's not the comfort level. It's more of being indoctrinated to obey the law since young; either black or white. Overly systematic in doing things. Not thinking out of the box.

While it's good as it generates a population of law abiding citizens, the trade off is stifled creativity. And the worse is some think they are best/smart when they haven't been exposed to other cultures which are ready to do what it takes to reach their objective.

Simple example..the notion that jb is a dangerous place, not worth going in. Sometimes it's these exposure that opens ones eyes.
