Punggol residents are the younger Gen Z, they know better who to vote as mostly are facing all economic/inflation problems.

mostly are 35-49yo sandwich class, with 21-34yo being the next biggest group.

that’s why they want GKY over from CCK.

likely to have <5% winning margin with PAP winning

Both punggol and sengkang are young estates
Pap already lost latter and they can't afford to lose punggol

I feel the mods should watch out for people who make baseless accusations of others without any credible evidence to back it up their claims.

I say this because I believe everyone wants the election threads to be about discussing which side to vote for basing on the merits and demerits of the candidates and the parties manifesto/policies and how these will shape the future for Singapore.

just my 2 cents.

Actually I was thinking why we can't have a rule whereby the candidates running for election, must be living in their respective wards....

*I know all parties sure don't want this lol.
But being a resident in the area will be closer to the issues on ground? And be more accessible to residents.

Yah lor it makes sense.

I was telling my gf about this election. She said in TW they must live in that city and district to be able to contest. Like must match the ID (which shows the city, address).

Not suka suka live in west and go east to compete. I said mybfd lor, SG ish like this one. Somemore nomination day can wait till last minute to play hide and seek then tadah.

I would agree on this but many of them aren't staying in the same areas they fighting for.
Especially those staying in more exclusive areas.

PAP will sure use the narrative to question Punggol residents if they really want to vote out a DPM to reach out to the swing voters.

In the end WP most likely will fall short

Your suggestion is certainly a good one. However sometimes you have to factor in the candidate’s personal life and circumstances. Not candidates have the monetary power to move places at a whim. Also the care of children or parents of the candidates also have to be considered.

Singapore is a small country. At most it only takes 1 hour or so for anybody to go from one end to another.

A Small country like Singapore has its own flexibility, like how Minister Gan is able to leave CCK GRC residents behind to run for Punggol GRC.
