I made one small change and the wifi seemed to be more stable. I turned on ECO Mode for wifi. Did not lose connection for the rest of the day. Will continue to monitor.

Nothing works on this new asus RT-BE92U wifi 7 router. It is a lemon. Keep disconnecting. CPU randomly goes to 100%. Watchdog keeps checking for firmware update despite disabling firmware check. Asus routers getting bad to worse. I am on the latest firmware. Revert back to my old xiaomi wifi 6 router.

Yup. First thing I did.

Since I started using the BE92U with the latest firmware, I’ve only had one reboot. If you're having issues, try setting it up from scratch with these tweaks:

1. Change the WAN from Auto Detect to 10G WAN only.
2. Change DNS from Auto to other DNS option on the list.

Also, if you’ve got any smart devices (like smart lights, plugs, cameras, etc.), it’s super important to put them on a separate IoT network. Most IoT devices don’t play nice with WiFi 7—they can cause a bunch of connect/disconnect issues that make your router work overtime and possibly overload the CPU.

Hi, want to check for those under M1 where do you place your ONT? My fibre termination point is in the db box so the technician placed the ONT there. It's a Huawei HN8250Ts model, however it feels very hot to the touch. I fear it might be overheating inside. In comparison my Asus BT10 also in the db box feels relatively cool.

Is there anything I can do? Can't really keep the db box open either since it will block my main door from opening.

I just keep the ONT inside the db box. No issue , the db door close 24/7. same situation as you.

What kind of cooler did you get? Does it help if the cabinet door remains closed?

I'm also interested to know what cooler you got, and whether it's effective to cool down the ONT. Mine is also hot instead of warm, and I fear it might be spoiled sooner rather than later.

I'm thinking whether a cooler fan is needed, or let the ONT just stay hot and it's designed to survive that temperature.

Would be good to know if anyone has experienced spoiled new ONT from M1 after the upgrade to 3/6/10 Gbps plan.

Hi guys, I was really alarmed by the heat generated by the ONT too. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

I saw many coolers online but decided on this design as the fan speed is adjustable. My DB box doors are kept closed all the while with no issue. ONT is now cool to the touch with the fan set at 75%.

did not get any fan or gadget to cool it.
i just let it sits on the tv console like the old ONT.. yes is hot when i touch it.
been running 24/7 for almost 3months. so far so good.

If TP connect to ONT only and then ONT connect to patch panel, then to router. Is it we cannot use the lan ports in the other rooms?
If TP connect to ONT and ONT connect to router directly, we can then use the lan ports in other rooms.
This was what i read somewhere, is it correct?

Yes. Only one port of the ONT is functional (exception is for legacy M1 2Gbps plan which is a dual 1Gbps plan and the ONT will have two active ports). For the 3Gbps/6Gbps/10Gbps plans, single 10G LAN port of the ONT is functional.

1) Option 1, other room LAN ports become useless.
ONT 10G LAN port -- Patch Panel -- Living Room LAN port (or other room) -- Main Router

2) Option 2, room LAN ports become functional.
ONT 10G LAN port -- Main Router -- Patch Panel -- Room LAN ports

For the first case, if you happen to have two ports in the patch panel that connects to the router location, you can then connect one of the router LAN ports back to the patch panel - and add a network switch to wire up the rest of the patch panel ports to the other rooms.

this is what my DB looks like. So i am assuming P01 goes to ONT and then i plug a ethernet cable connecting ONT then to D10 which is my living room and from there i place my router. So means i cannot use the ethernet ports in other rooms right?
But if P01 connect to ONT and then connect to router and all placed in the DB, then if i want ethernet in living room D10, i have to connect ethernet cable from router to D10 in the DB box first right?
Sorry for my silly questions.
