I recommend one with facilities like a swimming pool, a gym and a garden for a healthy lifestyle, if getting one for retirement or a holiday home.

Beware when your neighbour rents out his unit.
Had a friend who bought a condo in JB, fully furnished it but goes once in a month for 3-5 days. His neighbour puts up for rent, some tenant rented the unit and hacked a big hole on the adjacent wall and stole every thing.

Have you seen Mr Loo's JB house? Really nothing to steal. His most valuable item not nailed to the ground is his huge ugly 8 seater teak table, really not worth stealing.

Most of the freehold landed in Iskandar Puteria are snapped up very fast now by Malaysians, Singaporeans and Chinese. I could not get a Horizon Hill unit last year in October so I bought this one. Eco Botanic 3 is launching soon.

Their first launch of eco botanic is strata title which isn’t ideal for landed.
Not worth paying the maintenance fee with not much amentities with tiny pool and clubhouse used by sales team.
Go for horizon hills resale.

Where is your friend’s residence ?
My horizon hills 2 landed survived the Covid locked down.
One invaded by rats cos forgot to close toilet doors and forgot to weigh down all the drain holes and toilet seats to prevent rats coming from there.
Another weighed down all the rats possible entrances but survived with some leaking issues and overgrown trees

There are very few good sub-sale units left at Horizon Hills.

In addition to the small clubhouse, the newer Eco Botanic developments have no individual gates, but their landscaping is fantastic.
