Hi, I have been using the old Singtel 500mbps recontract offer @ 29.90 (now 30.XX after GST increase) for almost 8 years now.
Anyone is/was in the same situation as me, and is able to somehow get a free upgrade to 1gbps by contacting Singtel or something?

I don't need much higher speed, don't wish to think about bi-annual recontract/jump ship else incurring the high 'usual price' when contract expire, and also don't want to think about ONR bridging. I just wish to keep using my current ONT + router setup. :s8:

TIA 🙏
If you don't care about the recontract just used afterwards they will just let you be until a better offer or ur ONT abnormal like my they will swap to ONR no matter what happened?

Addon to my contract have been expired like 3 years plus. And have been paying the same price

Oh, somehow i always have that impression that they will revert back to the "Usual Price" after the 24mth contract is over, therefore it is better to recontract or jump ship.
i.e. 5Gbps Enhanced Plan at $38.90/mth (U.P. $95.90/mth)

Could it be that back then you re-contracted at a special offer that does not have a higher 'usual price'?
or maybe I am wrong to assume that it will fallback to the 'Usual price' after the contract ended.

If you recontract the 40/mth(U.P $100). Than yes after 24 mth the price will be $100. I see the latest contact term by singtel.

Because my is with Mio TV package

Anyone experience more unstable connection, lower WiFi range after switching to ONT?

even baby monitor camera keep disconnecting from WiFi which is a big annoyance as have to reset and reconfigure again…

What can be done by Singtel?

For what i know from the singtel engineer that come and change my ONT to ONR. Mention the ONT is not so stable with the stable from the conversation from fiber to ethernet port that why they discontinued it and now change every subscriber to ONR.

What do you mean by switching to ONT?

No more ONT for recontract or new sign-up, only ONR.

They are telling you the wrong answer...

ONT + lousy Singtel issued wireless router < ONR + lousy Singtel issued wireless router

ONT + your own good wireless router > ONR + lousy Singtel issued wireless router

ONT + your own good wireless router > ONR + your own good wireless router

In this particular case, it probably has nothing to do with the ONR, but rather the lousy bundled SingTel wireless router.

What was the setup before?

What is the setup now?
Before it’s Linksys AX -9450. It was then reinstalled for Singtel zen tech Z 7 router.

if I buy my own router like TP Link. Can I just remove Singtel one and plug and play?

Unfortunately I sold it for cheap. I thought Singtel newer WiFi 7 router was better
There is a better Wifi company but as always they want to save money and clam to be better. I have try on Asus router good product. Now waiting for my Unifi AP to delivery But I still suggest if u have any devices have a ethernet port just used them and if no chose then use wifi

What I know the DHCP from the ONR auto give the IP address and u need to change that to static address so u can log in the wifi wedpage to do the wifi setting

The TP-Link HB611 only has 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. So even if you wired, you are not going to be able to utilize the maximum 3Gbps bandwidth.

anyone using ZTE ONT and ipv6 is working without bridging it?

Are you using ZTE ONT or ZTE ONR?

ONT does not need bridging. If you are using ZTE GPON ONT and 1Gbps plan, IPv6 should work. If native IPv6 has been deployed in your areas, set it up on your router and see if it works. If not you have to use 6rd.

For IPv6 related issues, please go to the IPv6 thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/ipv6-discussions.6976522/

For ONR users (GPON ONR or XGS-PON ONRs), it is a totally different game -- you have to request IPv6 through Singtel and the process can be very painful.

BTW, I believe there are some stability issues with regard to Singtel 6rd IPv6 recently. No issues with native IPv6.

Sorry I mean ONR, not ONT.

Singtel can't make my ipv6 working, that's why I need to switch to other ISP.

For singtel ZTE ONR, there is no way to enable 6rd IPV6 only.
