Seems like it but some say go shop still have. I called CS and they also not sure. Plus if you recontracting the voucher also expired apparently. Price for the plans went up as well on their site.

M1 Shops maintain their own separate router inventory from their main online stock. So you may like to call 1623 (M1 Shop hotline) to inquire about the specific M1 Shop's BE805 stock, but that would also mean that you have to head down to the shop yourself to sign up.
Thanks both! I checked online today and the be805 is back in stock, managed to recontract at $32.90 per month (after the $15 off voucher for 24 months for existing users), not too shabby!

It would make you feel more shiok to hear that I just signed up with M1 at $30.90 per mth, just $2 cheaper than yours BUUUUTTTTT mine is only a 3Gbps bundle with BE230 router. So that makes your recontract deal a whole lot more bang for buck.

Hello all, I would appreciate it if any of the gurus here are able to help me. I'm staying in an old 5 room flat (no ethernet infrastructure in the entire house and not really keen to renovate the house just for wifi issues so wired backhaul is not an option) with the ONT at one corner of the house near the entrance and currently using the Archer AX72 that M1 gave previously, but the wifi reception at the master bedroom at the opposite end is really weak and the door needs to be open which is not ideal.

So right now I have 2 options since my contract is up for renewal,
1. Go with the 6Gbps at $35/mth, use the new BE805 as main router and put the AX72 in the middle of the house for mesh (I'm assuming they can work together easily without jumping through too much hoops)
2. Go with the 10Gbps at $51/mth and just use the ZenWifi BT10 at the fiber point and the second one in the middle of the house for mesh.

I have to recontract anyway since I'm currently paying $40 for the 1Gbps. I don't really need the 10Gbps speed but I would like the reception at the MBR to be much better so my mother will stop complaining about how slow everything is in the MBR.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

This m1 6gbps doesn't seem to have the special $34.9/mth price online. Is it must go in person to the shops?

Yeah I’m also on Merlin wrt with my TUF AX6400, damn stable and easy to portforward with opennat.

The BE92U seems to be a slight step down in features and hardware. Unfortunately M1 don’t offer the better routers like MR, gamer plan also discontinued.

Not interested in TP link, seen enough people complain about dropped connections.
Yes. And m1 dared to told me asus is not as stable as the tplink.

M1 only uses ONT. Same for MR and SIMBA.

Starhub used to have Nokia XGS-PON ONR option but now use only ONT in general.

VQ by default uses bridged ONR, basically same as ONT. Users can request to configure it in Router mode but that is not the normal case.

SingTel and WC use only ONR. SingTel now charges S$10 per month for official XGS-PON ONR bridging by SingTel.
My friend starhub got upgraded to 10gbps plan they gave him a onr and it got unstable. Asus router can't connect and constantly red light even after swapping back to ont. Now reset the router all is good for now.

Option 1 is good enough. Or get a 2nd tplink easy mesh router like be230 which people dump in carousell also works. Of course u can do ur math and see which one ends up more cost friendly. If asus and faster speed then go for the mesh.

For be805 users, new firmware 1.22 is out. Is slighlty more stable than 1.20 but sometimes facebook youtube and insta and whatsapp still buffers. And have to manually off and on phone wifi to get the speed back to normal.

Thank you for your input. Ultimately I went with option 1.5, recontracted 6Gbps at $33/month with the additional $12/month top up for the BT10.

Ladies and gents, need to recontract my M1 and have the few options (currently paying $30.98/mth):
1. Recontract with 1gbps @ $24/mth,
2. Upgrade to 2.5gbps (GPON) @ $29.9/mth
3. Upgrade to 3gbps (XPS-GPON) @ $32.9/mth

Staying in Paya Lebar area and have been reading up on ChatGPT and xiaofan's post - ChatGPT suggested that user saturating bandwidth is more likely to happen on the existing GPON so the only viable option would be to upgrade to the next one @ $32.9/mth.

I don't mind option 3 if it means future-proofing for the next 2 years as generally using Unifi WAP at home with my own hosting of PLEX and need external access to my NAS server (hence only considering M1). What I want to get from users here is will there be a significant upgrade in terms of network stability, future-proofing and better internet speeds if I go with Option 3? Or I should just stick with Option 1 until 2 years later and re-assess.

Thank you!

oh why the factory reset after updating the firmware apart from the weird unexplained issues?
The factory reset is solely to prevent clash of the new and old firmware, which might lead to unforeseen bugs and instabilities. This method is also encouraged for all cellphones after a major OS update as it will kill all potential issues (most commonly battery drain) from manifesting.

I've had first hand experience wasting lots of time troubleshooting weird issues.
Factory reset resolved them.

Anyway, it is also recommended by ASUS - see FAQ #1:
https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1008000/

1. Do I need to restore the router to the factory default settings after updating the firmware?
It is recommended that you restore the router factory default settings after updating the firmware.
After the restore is complete, please go to http://www.asusrouter.com or http://www.asusrouter.com and follow the QIS to set up your router again.

Your Choice of Internet Plan Depends on Two Key Factors:

1. Budget Considerations

- Some users find $32.90 reasonable for higher speeds

- Others prefer more economical $24 plans

- Choose based on your comfortable spending range

2. Connection Setup

- Higher plans are like wider highways with higher speed limits

- However, speed benefits may be limited by:

* Older wireless devices

* Router capabilities

* Wireless connection standards

Important Note:

For a typical family of 4, a 1Gbps plan is usually sufficient. It's unlikely that normal household usage would create bottlenecks at this speed.

Thank you for the replies, having digged through the past few pages - I think Option 4 - 6gbps with free BE805 router + minus $15 off for recontracting is the best offer for now, with option of reducing the monthly to cheaper than $24 1gbps recontract.

If sell router at $275 and get the $15 voucher that would bring net gain to $290 which is $12/mth.
So monthly bill to be $32.9 - $12 = $21/mth. Thanks!
