actually alot of china kits are very good
bigger and cheaper

just quality not as good.

koto kits also quite good.

quality can be an issue for unseasoned builders. i think most important is the build design. for example the solomon nightingale suffers from poor design choices (they tried to make a rg) and ugly heatsink on the ''wings'' and poor fit tolerances.

my happiest build so far is my MG Dom. the bazooka cracked when i was assembling it post painting i lazy to fix but other than that, solid build.

Rast time I did my research at places like page one at vivo city.
Read the reference books there but never buy. I think cheapos like me were a big reason why they closed down.

What change for the better was the internet; so many resources online. I wont term it as cheapo; when we were young, how many got rich parents to splurge on resource books. Its a long journey; its the process that build the person

Bandai official idol group to promote plastic model kit. They do review and assemble model kit on the channels. Now also has figurine model kit

bandai actually going woke but in a different way.

they are cultivating the next generation of female hobbyists now, even though their biggest demographic of gunpla hobbyists in Japan are female.

actually the unpopular truth to WWII AFV modelling is the stuff made back then are often rushed to the front lines and what rivet counters say X is Y has no real standing because there can be 10 variants of a Stug III due to battlefield conditions and modifications.

i think whats most impt is the kit has the size and dimensions correct because i have seen tiger I same scale but different size one and went wtf lol.

Chiu sure china kits not so good in quality? Newer players like RyeField/ Meng and established one like Trumpeter equally good compare to Dragon which was a standard comparable to Tamiya at one point.

I can only say their mould finer and little to no flash for rework.

Quite true actually. A lot of those camo patterns were also applied in field conditions so ironically a roughly painted model is more "accurate" than one where the builder took great pains to ensure the paint is even and lines sharp.
