I had separated out the 2.4ghz but lockin gate still cannot connect. Do I miss out some settings?

The new WiFi 7 routers will often have some compatibility issues with 2.4GHz clients. If the IoT Guest Network does not work, then I guess nothing much you can do. The solution is probably use another older WiFi 6 router (with security updates still available from the vendor) as AP to serve 2.4GHz IoT clients or other legacy 2.4GHz clients.

In fact, newer WiFi 7 routers may often have worse 2.4GHz coverage than the older generation routers as well.

I use my trusted Asus RT-AX86U for legacy 2.4G clients (not so much into IoT myself). Then I use either TP-Link Archer BE805 (6GHz supported) or Asus TUF-BE6500 (no 6GHz support) for the main clients.

Interestingly I use TUF-BE6500 much more often than Archer BE805. I use Archer BE805 only when I want to show off the WiFi 7 speed (>2Gbps, or even >3Gbps at good days)...

If mostly wired just get BE92U or bt10. Hardware not much of a concern unless you have multiple wireless devices connected and streaming data simultaneously. I personally avoid wifi and go wired where possible. Most likely leaning towards bt10 pair as well. Or maybe keep my ax5400 as secondary router and get one BE92U.

Asus still leaps ahead in terms of software and stability. With Merlin WRT even better. Just scroll through this very thread and you’ll see how many dropped connections were reported with be805. Reddit also same story. Bt10 has its own thread, so far very well praised. Only thing I don’t like is only one 10gbps port on bt10 with the rest being 1gbps. Even be92u has multiple 2.5 gbps ports.

Of course like someone else mentioned unifi will be better than everything given free but at very premium prices. Don’t think it’s worth for most mainstream consumers.
Hi, the BT10 has 2 10G ports.

I go off my second mesh router, then at my main one I go seperate out one 2.4 ghz. Now that main router only has 6ghz one one and another for iot at 2.4ghz. No more 5ghz as I don’t want the door to connect to it but still cannot work

Should I recontract to m1 6gbps and continue using my ax86u? I will sell away the be92u while I wait for better router prices?

Hi, the BT10 has 2 10G ports.

Sorry I meant one downstream. Cause one port needs to be connected to Wan and/or to second bt10. So essentially you only have one that can be used to connect to a pc or other devices. The rest are 1gbps.

Weird considering the BE92U has quad 2.5gbps. Think bt10 was designed more with wireless in mind.

Must understand not all can afford. And some of the equipment the speed is also slower if u purchase the lower end models.
Yes that is why i am comparing them to gaming router and those fancy routers. If all your budget can afford is a tplink router, then be it. But a lot of people is upgrading to 10g that is basically 15 bucks more than a 3g plan, 15x24 that is another 360 that you can spend on better internal network or a gaming router that cost 500 which IMO actually give you better value. 800 basically get you a pretty decent unifi gear to start with and even better one if you go second hand.

Oh I have concerns on the 2.4ghz range actually. I thought ax86u is still better option?

Why do you have concerns on the 2.4GHz range? Are you relying on 2.4GHz for your main devices like mobile phones, tablets and desktop/laptop? If that is the case, the right solution is to use a mesh solution and not to rely on 2.4GHz in Singapore. 2.4GHz is too congested in Singapore.

BTW, it is better to use 20MHz channel bandwidth in Singapore and not 20MHz/40MHz.

But if your main concern is IoT and legacy 2.4GHz devices, then it is indeed good to keep using RT-AX86U.

I will recommend to keep the RT-BE92U for the main devices and then use RT-AX86U to serve 2.4GHz device. But it is up to you. It is fine to keep using RT-AX86U if you have no issues with it.

I am using RT-AX86U for my Singtel 5Gbps plan to serve legacy 2.4GHz device. Then I have TP-Link Archer BE805 (or Asus TUF-BE6500) to serve the main clients.

Just signed M1 6gbps Plan with BE805 @35.90/ mth. Before simba forcing their $30 per month 10gbps plan on me. Lol.. Got free $30 capitalnd voucher.. Not sure u all got take or not..

Just check mine BE805 hardware is V1.2.. So far never enable MLO is very stable. Wifi coverage is way further then my Asus Ax6000. Hopefully this time I hve better experience with tplink.

I had some concerns with my robot vacuum located in a corner of my service yard where my ax86u is at one of my common room. Occasionally not able to connect to my robot vacuum that's why i worry on the 2.4ghz range on be92u
