5k definitely enough to buy a 3R resale above 35.
But for 4R and above may need to top up cash along with cpf OA payment, it also depends on the age and the location of the 4R.

$5k is definitely enough to survive.

The problem is that u need to earn this $5k a month. It is different if ur passive investment is $5k a month

2008 $3k is worth about $5.5k in 2025, according to official inflation rates.
On another note... you one decade of working for $3k~$5k, can retire ah? Strike TOTO is it?
Bro dereth held many shares of the company he worked for. Now that company is one of the big players in AI eco space. Going to be the added to Magnificent 7 stocks.

Below average I think for those above age 30? Depends on age also.
It's average. The reported median salary for those aged 30-39 is $5.8k including bonuses excluding employer CPF. That's about $4.9k if drawing 1mth AWS and 1mth variable bonus every year.

I have a family of 4. We get by comfortably with about 3k per month. And we have a car. The key here is not to borrow. Spend only what you can earn.
What? $3k/mth for the entire family of 4? And you have a car? Expense breakdown please. I really can't see how that can be possible.

So basically he struck TOTO,
Haha JK. It takes balls to work for a startup and take payment in shares instead of fiat. He deserved every cent.

If you take 1 hour of your life everyday to earn the 5k/month not bad.

If you take 8 hours of your life everyday to earn the 5k/month, not so good.

Please read my post carefully. I have no loans. Means house and car are both fully paid up. I drive only when my family are travelling with me. I take public transport when I travel alone. I do not dine in restaurants because whatever I eat turns into poo.

Dont think he took shares as payment. Got bonuses in stocks. And he bought more.
Yes give him credit. But there was an element of luck as well. Right company that he was working for.

Then take 8h of life everyday to earn how much then is good?
