They are selling tau huay chwee, NOT tau ni. 2 different things. Tau huay chwee is soy bean milk ADD water. Tau ni then is pure soy bean milk like what you get at Mr Bean etc.

Think most soya drink is got add water one. Difference is how much. For, plain soya bean is dried one. The soya bean before milk out is already soaked in and absorbed water, that's why grind got juice come out. There is water inside already.

After that the milk on its own is often too thick for many liking, and not profitable with so little. So usually further add water to dilute and increase volume during cooking.

Those that taste more milky one is they add lesser water. More watery one add more water. There is a certain ratio of milk to water that different sellers stand by in producing the final drink which can varies with sellers.
