That's why don't give up SG citizenship. Just be a PR in a foreign land.

One of my friends is a PR in Australia, living there for more than 10 years. Lifestyle is so much better than Singapore.
Nah
It all depends

If medical etc is cheaper in Singapore, can do what Taiwanese do

Just suffer and endure in overseas like US and don't do any medical thingy there cos expensive and return.to Taiwan For it

Sometimes not about the price of things, but the value they bring to u. Space is a luxury not everyone has. Access to the nature would be the other.

Having said that, what one prioritises are different from person to person.

If your kids can do well and be a doctor or lawyer, then life in canada ain’t that bad. In fact might even be better.

It’s better to develop overseas for professionals. In sg even a car COE is above 120k, overseas can buy a sports car. Sg will only go on decline in the near future, like Nauru island last time. The golden age of sg won’t last due to geopolitics shift happening now. These no saving period of sg

Only for those 50s and above can still enjoy over the lifetime. Those below 50s, they won’t be able to survive sg economy once the rich start bailing out 20 years later due to geopolitical repositioning due to war

Singapore is doing well because of the flood gate opened to foreigners. These people brought in their wealth to Singapore, some even wash it in Singapore. Singapore is a place for the elites and rich going forward. Lower class foreigners are coming to Singapore to work purely because of strong SGD, that's all.

Singapore is not a bad place, albeit expensive. Maybe the Singapore Story should be one where our people go overseas to make their money and then come home to retire.

What do you think?

should get our civil servants or social work leaders do private sector jobs for one year without anyone knowing they are from govt sector. Then they will have better feel of what’s happening and make better policies. Otherwise they just in bliss land, every year go 2 times family holidays, while private sector ppe get bbq.

It’s a serious problem in the future, they will also the ones who bail when things go badly. If conflict happen between China and USA, they will run. A global conflict, they will also run. It’s a lose lose situation for sg position, during this era of superpower flexing

Yes, the old guys are living with old monies as well as their asset rich program like HDBs.

For younger generations, if they don't have old monies left for them, they are facing intense competition from foreigners in job applications.

One of the foreigners worked in Singapore as a HR profession is able to speak 5 different languages which no Singkies can match. She will get the job especially foreign MNCs or foreign set up companies in Singapore.

What war?
Why would rich bail? The other way round. Rich will all rush to go Singapore.
Singapore is peaceful. Is very well defended with strong military and the best air force and navy in the world.
Singapore is built as a safe haven for the rich and all assets.
All the world's AI data centers will be in Singapore.
Singapore will be key to the world. If Singapore falls then the world is lost.

partially true, Singapore GDP has gone up 47x since 1980, vs 28x for South Korea, 20x for Taiwan and 14x for HK during that period, SGP is the best of the 4 tigers.

Everywhere is the same. But Singapore is doing better. Why? It means a lot of good money is going to Singapore.
Singapore is getting richer and richer. And this benefits the whole country. The SGD is getting stronger and stronger every year.

Investing in SGD is very good. Safe haven,
