Guys checking if there is any rumours of upcoming Oppo update to add number badges for app like WhatsApp Business. Just got the global ROM version of the Pro and quite surprised number badges for WhatsApp Business is not supported. Currently using the OnePlus Launcher workaround but seems like so weird.

x8 shoul be ard there as china rom limit launch for better battery performance i guess

Does not have Quick share but have something similar call Oppo Share.

Google home, no problem. I do have google home on my OFX8U.
Dunno wad was TS issue on no minus one google home.

The real real breaker to me is no esim (out of the box) But again, there is a solution for it.
Hi, can you share the workaround for esim please? TIA

the workaround is to sign up for a service like esim.me then u get a physical sim which functions like an esim. Depends on your use case. for me i use esim like eskimo for extra data during travelling so getting esim.me doesn't feel very value for money, it ain't cheap. just google "esim.me alternatives" and u can find other brands with varying prices.

u mean u tried and it doesn't work? i'm using a samsung watch and it works fine with my FX8P. I changed from a Samsung ultra phone to FX8P, didn't even need to wipe my Samsung Watch. Just need to install the Samsung Health app and Galaxy Wear app from the Play Store to the phone, pair then that's it.

By default u won't get ECG and Blood Pressure unless you install a modded version of Samsung Health Monitor which i did but this process a bit complicated.

My previous china phone ( Oppo Find X6 Pro) able to pair with Samsung Watch 5.
Using the wearos by google (china), Samsung health in the oppo app market.

Bu the time to tweet, not worth it. Cos Samsung watch need to charge daily. So now using Huawei watch, charges once every 12-14 days...

I might be WOLS but I updated to the latest SW and realised there is custom battery charging limits, just like One UI7 so I'm no longer stuck with max 80% or 100%. A lot of other brands all have this setting, so it's good that Oppo finally caught up.

And I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think there's a new setting where the battery % remaining can now be outside of the battery icon, which makes the % bigger and more visible.
[Edit] Most likely this setting is already there, i saw it in my much older Oppo phone.

X9 Pro is most probably going to cost around $1.5k at launch, you think you wanna pay the difference for a newer model? 😅

Yes, I know price will sure to be high during launch, but also must consider what are the specifications provided for that high price, then can consider.
Although I have viewed some of the leak specifications on X9 Pro via YT, I would not take it as true for now.

IMO, nowadays phone technology has already reached the peak and bottle-necked, I dont foresee any big improvement is going to happen.
Most likely is slightly better camera, ultra-sonic fingerprint and bigger battery, which don't seem tempting for most people.

Of cos, if cost is not a concern, its always better to get the newest model. :giggle:

Yup, do agree with your opinions.

Probably Oppo X8 Pro at $900+ may be a good buy.
