just now i went 7-eleven and a random auntie in her 50-60s approached me
She asked if im making any payment via paywave/card etc
then she explained she wana buy dunno what cash gold card and that they (7-11 manned cashier) dont accept cash payment for it etc
i assumed she meant for me to help her pay via paywave/card and she pay me in cash
i just walked away

now thinking back, many qns in my head
is this a possible scam, or money washing?
or was she subjected to a possible scam, eg. buy those value card codes to give scammer?
what kinda cash/gold card where 7-eleven dont accept cash payments?

unfamiliar person encounter usually and politely reject tis kind of monetary favour
cause see/heard overseas got hackers install fake contactless console over real ones
if the got the time wait around and observe if its genuine or scamster

I would usually ignore and walk away, but if you are trying to help and are unsure about it, at least go to the counter and ask with her. If she is uncooperative, changes the subject or gets annoyed, that's a red flag, and you can tell her off on the spot. You have every right to check with the staff.
