Xiaomi BE5000 new firmware 1.0.91 is available since Aug-2025 on the website, but the router says no update found. Same for Mi home app and web browser UI. Anyone knows why?

Just downloaded the FW and used the Web UI to upgrade.

Normal functions seem to be okay.

2.4GHz+5GHz MLO WiFi 7 Speedtest using my Acer Swift Go 14 2024 model (Intel Killer BE1750x WiFi 7 adapter).

One major problem is that the existing SSH does not work now, Need to try again. I was able to get SSH to work previously.

The other problem is that settings backup does not seem to work now. It does not seem to do anything after I click "start backup" button.

Take note I use this Xiaomi BE5000 only for testing purpose, so it is not important to me.

I wish it would have OpenWRT support in the future though.

1) The following SSH method does not seem to work with 1.0.91 FW version.

All the excution commands seem to be okay but SSH port is still closed.

So far I do not have any issue with 1.0.53, so not sure if should upgrade to new FW. I don't use advance feature like SSH. Is it possible to quickly rollback to previous FW after upgrade?

I tend to think Xiaomi has not phased out Xiaomi BE6500 as it is still available from 小米商城 at RMB 449.

Maybe they have limited stock and want to promote their own online shop.

Yes, 10Gbe PHY and Switch chips are expensive. So you only see two 10Gbe ports on typical consumer WiFi 7 routers.

Even the top of the line Asus ROG GT-BE98 has only two 10Gbe ports.

2.5Gbe ports are a good compromise. It is not expensive for the router vendor to add 2.5Gbe ports now. It is also cheap for the client devices to add 2.5Gbe ports.

You can take a look at the top of the line motherboards, you seldom see 10Gbe port, but rather only 2.5Gbe port (or 5Gbe port recently).

You can see that IPQ9570 is much faster but then IPQ5424 is good enough for typical use cases of average users.

Not possible to flash global ROM for China set as far as I know.

They are different class of product. If you do not need to use Xiaomi IoT devices, the Xiaomi AX9000 should be a higher end product (triband, high end WiFi 6 router), Xiaomi BE3600 Pro is a low end device but with support of Xiaomi IoT devices.
