This thread is not to replace the Comprsion of SIM Only Plans thread and various threads about the offerings from MNO/MVNOs.

Rather I would like to use a few posts to provide the summary as I see it, and try to keep them updated.

Note:
1. You should look into the details of each plan, including the terms and conditions, before deciding which plan to go.
The good thing about no contract plan is that you can easily change to another one if you are not happy.

2. Please take note some SingTel plans mentioned in Post #2 have 12 months contract. The SingTel plans mentioned in Post #4 will have 12 month contract as well.

3. Please read Post #5 to see how you can decide which plan to go, not just based on cost. You need to check your use case against the suitability of the plan and the cost. Sometimes you have to make a trade-off.

Motivation:

Good work, I was thinking of suggesting you to do something like this for sometime.
Such post are too long and too frequent in the individual threads so it is better to reference them somewhere else.
It is also easier maintain/update & to bookmark for reference.

Yes, this will make things easier. Previously I was only collecting Singtel SIM Only recontract offer links. But now I also like to check out low cost 5G and 4G SIM Only offers from the providers, so I thought of consolidated the things here in a single thread.

Comments are welcome.

I am not an expert in this area, just an information collector here. :ROFLMAO:

Along the way, I also learn some technical stuff here, and that is good.

Lowest Cost 5G enabled SIM Only Plan Comparisons -- updated on 27-Jan-2026

Different offerings may offer more data but most of users cannot use up the data anyway. Roaming benefits may be more useful for some use cases.

You should look into the details of each plan, including the terms and conditions, before deciding which plan to go. The good thing about no contract plan is that you can easily change to another one if you are not happy.

Please take note the SingTel plans mentioned below have 12 months contract.

Note: one month to three months discount offers will not be included.

The following list does not consider special Senior Plan offers.

Take note Singtel Heya and the replacement Singtel hi! postpaid do not offer 5G plans as of now. Same for redONE.

1) Singtel SIM Only Plus recontract offer --> S$15.28 per month with 12 month contract, not for new sign-up.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlyplusform

New user -- lowest is the Singtel 5G+ Enhanced Lite SIM Only plan at $24.50/mth with 12 months contract.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only/online-exclusive

https://www.singtel.com/cis

Singtel's no contract SIM Only plans are more expensive, lowest cost is the Ehanced Core plan at S$40 per month.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only

2) StarHub SIM Only Plan --> minimum at S$22 per month for the new StarHub 5G Lite plan.
https://consumer.starhub.com/personal/store/mobile-plans

Passion card offer for 5G Lite plan at S$17.60 per month.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/promotions/passioncard.html

Same S$22 per month minimum for previously offered Star SIM Only Plan (not for new users to sign up now).

On the other hand, Starhub Prepaid Plan has the low cost 5G enabled plans at S$10 per month option (Starhub Prepaid S Plan) and S$15 per month option (Starhub Prepaid M plan). Even the name includes "Prepaid", it is actually a postpaid plan in disguise.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/mobile/starhub-prepaid.html

3) M1 Bespoke SIM Only --> minimum at S$14.95 per month
https://www.m1.com.sg/personal/sim-plan

4) SIMBA 5G --> minimum S$10 per month (but kind of 4G speed in reality)
https://www.simba.sg/personal

Sometimes SIMBA will have one-to-one top-up offer.

5) Gomo 5G+ plans --> minimum at S$18.33 per month
https://gomo.sg/

6) M1 Maxx 5G --> minimum at S$12 per month
https://maxx.sg/#buy-now

From 16 Dec 2025, new sign-up of M1 Maxx S$10 plan will not get 5G. Only S$12 plan will get 5G.

Existing users of M1 Maxx S$10 plan will be able to keep 5G if they keep the monthly top-up.

7) Giga 5G --> minimum at S$18.33 per month for normal 5G plan.

Trust customers can get $12.33/mth for the first 3 months on the 5G 300GB plan on Giga with the Promo Code “TRUST6GIGA” to enjoy the S$66 OFF for three months promotion. Thereafter, monthly price reverts back to $18.33 per month. (from crystalnox).

Giga also has a 4G plan with free 5G upgrade at S$15.28 per month (from sango65)
https://www.giga.com.sg/mobile

Giga S$10.19 per month 4G plan users may get free 5G upgrade.

8) eight 5G --> minimum at S$14.8 per month
https://www.eight.com.sg/

Sometimes eight will have one-to-one top-up offer.

9) Circles.Life 5G --> minimum S$15 per month, not counting first month offer.
https://www.circles.life/sg/5g/

CLMC1400GB5GIPHONE17A
Three month free 5G trial, after three months it may change to S$15/mth.

From A7997A for CL 5G offer.
a) https://activate-shop.circles.life/...ale=en&plan_name=Circles18&ps=true&reset=true
$6.30 forever - 4G 1TB forever w Free 5G addon, 500 SMS, no roaming PRTAI6EATG4

b) https://activate-shop.circles.life/circles1/sa_delivery?esim=true&locale=en&ps=true&reset=true

$10.30 "forever" - 5G 1.01TB w 8GB roaming PT1TB88RUSHVB

$9.90 for 1year - 5G 0.98TB w 8GB roaming PRT1TB990OO3YK / PRT1TB9904T84Q
The 2x 5G code are listed as for 1 year, but the discounts are listed as forever, which is a contradiction.
So it is unclear if after 1 year it will remain or becomes $15/mth.

10) MyRepublic 5G --> at S$14.95 minimum
https://myrepublic.net/sg/5g/

11) VIVIFI 5G --> minimum at S$15 per month.

Lowest Cost 4G LTE SIM Only Plan Comparisons -- updated on 27-Jan-2026.

Different offerings may offer more data but most of users cannot use up the data anyway. Roaming benefits may be more useful for some use cases. Some plans may offer a few free months of 5G access.

You should look into the details of each plan, including the terms and conditions, before deciding which plan to go. The good thing about no contract plan is that you can easily change to another one if you are not happy.

The following list does not consider special Senior Plan offers.

Take note there are NO 4G LTE only plans from Singtel, Starhub, M1 and SIMBA.

Note: one month to three months discount offers will not be included.

1) Singtel SIM Only -- no 4G only options.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/mobile/plans/sim-only

SingTel hi! S$10 per month (Port-in offer) or S$12 per month plan is a postpaid SIM Only Plan.

https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi

Take note the S$15 hi! is a 5G prepaid plan and the data bundle is only for 28 days.

2) Starthub SIM Only Plan --> no 4G Only plan
https://consumer.starhub.com/personal/store/mobile-plans

Same for the old Starhub Star SIM Only Plan -- no 4G Only plan.

3) M1 Bespoke SIM Only --> no 4G only plan
https://www.m1.com.sg/personal/sim-plan

4) SIMBA --> no 4G only plan. But the 5G speed may be similar to other telco's 4G plan
https://www.simba.sg/personal

The following 4G list from MVNOs (including MVNOs under MNOs like Starhub giga/Eight, Singtel GOMO and M1 Maxx) does not consider special Senior Plan offers.

1) Singtel Gomo 4G plans --> minimum at S$10.18 per month
https://gomo.sg/

2) Starhub Giga 4G --> minimum at S$10.19 per month.
https://www.giga.com.sg/

Take note this plan may get free 5G upgrade.

3) Starhub Eight 4G --> minimum at S$8 per 30 days. Take note Eight Telecom is a fully-owned subsidiary of Starhub.
https://www.eight.com.sg/

4) M1 Maxx 4G --> minimum at S$7.90 per month
https://maxx.sg/

From A7997A:
This price is good for 12 months, then goes back to $9.90.
At $9.90 this plan no longer make sense, might as well take the S$10 plan

5) MyRepublic 4G --> minimum at S$7.9 per month.
S$6.0 per month (first two months S$5.90) -- promotion ended.
https://myrepublic.net/sg/4g/

6) Circles.Life 4G --> minimum S$10.8 per month from the website. But they have many promotion codes to get cheaper pricing.
https://www.circles.life/sg/#4g-plans

Example promotion codes now to get cheaper 4G plans (the codes many change from time to time).

From A7997A:
$6.30 forever - 4G 1TB forever w Free 5G addon, 500 SMS, no roaming PRTAI6EATG4
$6.50 "forever" - 4G 1TB forever, no roaming PRT1TB65096PE3 or PRT6504GTY93N or PRT1TB6502LWYL (why even have these ?)
$5.30 "forever" - 4G 1TB forever, no roaming PRT1TBX5NOICS.

Earlier promotion ended on 30-Sept-2025 --> S$3.30/month for 100GB 4G data.

From A7997A:
It appeared on CL website on 2nd Sept and was advertised as end on 30th Sep.
But by 3rd Sep was gone from the web site and the code no longer works on the 6th Sept.

7) Zym 4G --> minimum at S$7.0 per month.
https://zym.sg/

8) Zero1 4G --> minimum at S$7.06 per month.
https://zero1.sg/plans/zero1-basic

9) ViviFi 4G--> minimum at S$7.70 per month.
https://www.vivifi.me/#plansMainPage

https://www.cmlink.com/sg/en/

https://www.cuniq.sg/en/plans/shared-data-plan

12 redONE 4G -- minimum at S$10.90 per month.
https://redonemobile.com.sg/

13, SingTel heya 4G --> minimum at S$10 per month. Heya plans have been migrated to Singtel hi! 4G with the same benefits. The transition started on 1 Dec 2025, and customers would have been notified via SMS.

Migration guide:
https://cdn1.singteldigital.com/content/dam/heya/pdf/hi-welcome-faq-nov-25-v1.pdf

heya no longer accepts new sign-up since 3-Nov-2025.

14. Singtel hi! 4G Monthly plan

Latest Singtel SIM Only Recontract offers:
Not for new customers including port-ins.

You only need to fill in the form, no need to call in 1688 or WhatsApp Singtel.

You only need to select Option 1 which is the best offer now. The others are just for backup in case Singtel rejects your order (unlikely if you belong to Type A or Type B below).

A) For Singtel SIM Only Plan users with 12 months contract, usually you can recontract with the S$15.28 per month plan link at the 10th month or 11th month.

B) For Singtel Mobile plans with 24 months contract, you may have to try the recontract only towards the end of the contract, say two weeks before.

C) For Singtel SIM Only Plan users without contract, you can try the S$15.28 per month link after finishing one month or two months. YMMV even though there are some successful stories.

1. Best offer for non senior citizen
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/eform/simonlyplusform
12-month contract
250GB of 5G+ data
FREE 6GB DataRoam Monthly to Malaysia for next 12 months (worth $192) --> Upgraded to 50GB as on 30-August-2025
1,000 mins
500 SMS
12 FREE months of Caller ID
12 FREE months of 5G+ Access
$15.28/mth

Note: after 12 month contract, the plan becomes very expensive (S$30.56+S$5.09+S$5.45=S$41.1 per month). No one really wants to use the plan out of contract after 12 months. Remember to recontract before contract expire data, you can also port out after contract expires.

Here are collections of the Senior SIM Only Plans.

Last update on 20-Dec-2025.

1. SIMBA's offer seems to be pretty good at S$5/30days. The roaming data bundle is pretty good for the price. Moreover, the free voice roaming can be important for seniors. It is 5G enabled but SIMBA 5G is like other providers' 4G.

2. Singtel SG60 offer (5G, only for Pioneer and Merdeka generation customers, age 66 and above in year 2025) is also pretty good at S$6 per month.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/pr...ly-seniors?utm_campaign=1jul-sop-sg60-seniors

Take note the price goes up to S$12 after 12 months contract. After 24 months the price will go very high so please make sure you change the plan before 24 months.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully.

3. The new Singtel hi! Senior plan (4G, no contract) is pretty decent at S$5 per month.

4. The existing Singtel Mobile Access Plan (4G) may not be as good as the above. But the good thing is that it comes with device subsidies.

1. How to select a SIM Only Plan?

Everyone may have different use cases and different budget. Nothing wrong to select whatever plans suitable for your use case. But you do need to be care to choose the plan suitable for your needs, If not suittable then cheap also no use.

That might be the wrong questions to ask.
How about what is important to you ?

Ok, maybe to guide you along :
1) Do you need/want 5G ?
2) How important is roaming for you ?
2a) Which countries are you likely to need roaming for ?
2b) How much roaming data do you need
2c) Do you need to voice service during roaming ? For incoming calls ? Call SG ? Call local numbers ?
2d) Do you need to send SMS when roaming ?
3) How much local data/call/sms do you need ?
4) Do you need wifi calling/VoWifi ?
5) Do you need esim ?
6) Are you price sensitive ?

A good answer to question 2 alone might eliminate a large number of potential options.

Another crucial point to take into consideration is the coverage & performance for areas that you frequent, bearing in mind the use case for each line. Of particular concern will be places like basement, carparks, deep inside big malls, outlying areas like the mandai catchment, islands etc. This is where the placement of base station/repeater & the performance of the low bands like 700 & 900 MHz comes into play.

It is very specific to each person and how one uses the line. Eg :
For home mobile broadband, the only thing that matters is the performance & consistency at your home, & your data usage can be met by the plan.
If you frequent a location that has very poor reception for all but one provider, your decision is already made for you, all is left is which MVNO to pick or perhaps the MNO itself.
If you are often at remote location, Singtel & its MVNO are likely to be more suitable, but it can still depends, more than once I have seen Singtel trashed by Simba or M1 at specific location.

Another good input.

Other resources which I wish I had known about before I did my first ever porting. Hope these may be of help to those considering mobile providers.

"Detailed coverage maps for all major networks around the globe are available for free in the Opensignal app.
Download the Opensignal app, available on Android or iOS, to:
  • Accurately measure the true mobile network experience you receive on your mobile network
  • See 2G, 3G and 4G network availability, stats and speeds experienced on all networks worldwide
  • Help contribute to the Singtel coverage map and contribute to future Singapore reports"

https://www.imda.gov.sg/about-imda/...s/telecom-service-providers-consumer-feedback

2. Answering the above questions may help you to narrow down the selections.

For example, if you need eSIM, then Zym, RedOne and Singtel Heya cannot be used (geenet and Changi Mobile also did not have eSIM but they are out of the SIM Only mobile service market now). Take note the replacement for heya will be Singtel hi! plans which does support eSIM.

If you need free roaming voice (incoming and outgoing voice call when roaming), then you can only select Eight, SIMBA and Starhub 5G Unlimited+/Platinum plans.

3. Other questions which may be useful to ask to further narrow down the selections.

1) VoNR -- probably not so important now as VoLTE may be good enough for quite some years to come.

M1/Maxx/Starhub/Giga/Eight now support VoNR on 5G networks.
Singtel -- only selected phones with latest Android OS may work as of now.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/telcos-support-for-vonr.7034823/

2) 30 days billing cycle (eg: SIMBA, Maxx, Eight, Gomo, Heya) vs monthly billing. This is probabaly not so important for majority of the users, but then some users do mind.

30 Days billing :
Simba, Eight, Maxx, Gomo, Heya

Calendar month billing cycle (prorate for first month) :
All MNO except Simba
Singtel MVNO except Gomo & Heya
Redone, Cuniq & CL

Giga & Myrepublic does Day of month billing cycle, so the day will remain the same.

3) Apple Watch SIM -- niche requirement but can be important to some users
Only Singtel/M1/Starhub number sharing service

4) China mobile number to be used in SG -- niche requirement but can be important to some users
Only CMLink 1CMN and CUniq 1C2N

Take note this China number is not for you to use in China as you will incur high voice roaming charges.

Is indeed an expensive lesson to learn because of not fully understanding the intended purpose of 2 in 1 China number. The main purpose is to allow:
- Mainland number holder residing in Spore to combine the lines into 1 single SIM.
- Local user who need a China number for receiving OTP or calls while IN Singapore.

Totally not meant for visitors to China to use this number while IN China.

5) Able to choose the number during sign-up process or not.

6) Some more technical-inclined users also want to check out QCI value. Average users can probably just ignore...
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/qci-values-thread.6936478/

7) Service hotline, Singtel/M1/Starhub SIM Only plans will have a hotline. SIMBA and MVNOs (including Gomo, giga and Eight) may not have hotline support. Rather you have to use online chat, email or go to the service centre.

M1 Maxx hotline -- 1693, same as M1 Prepaid hotline.
https://www.m1.com.sg/support/contact-us

CMLink hotline -- 1602
https://www.cmlink.com/sg/en/faq/?value=1

CUniq -- Customer Service Hotline: +65 31290486
https://www.cuniq.sg/en/plans/sg-cs@cuniq.com

MyRepublic Hotline:
https://intercom.help/myrepublicsg/en/articles/8768257-we-re-here-to-help
Technical Support at Your Fingertips
Our Technical Support team is ready to assist you at +65 6717 1680, daily from 9 am to 2 am. For Fibre broadband issues, press 2 and then 4. For Mobile concerns, press 1 and then 5.

Singtel hi! hotline --> not so sure if can still use SingTel Prepaid hotline 1800 4822800.

8) ...

Please comment to add more relevant questions.

Different tiers of Singtel SIM Only Plan.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/5g-plus

Normal 5G+ --> S$15.28 per month plan
5G+ Ehanced plans
5G+ Priority plans

My personal take on Singtel SIM Only plans.

I have experienced all 3 different type of plans.

1. SIM Only 5G+ $15.28/month - this is their best offering despite 12-months contract. Comes with 5G+ which is what most people would need. Of course, this plan is subjected to eligibility; if anyone is eligible and wants to be on Singtel MNO, this is the plan.
2. Enhanced 5G+ plan - I personally think this is the most useless one. I do not experience any significant improvements over the 5G+ plans
3. Priority 5G+ plan - If anyone needs the niche feature of network slicing especially for hyper crowded areas like New Year countdown, CNY countdown, NDP, concerts, F1, etc... this is the one for you. It is not cheap and on daily use basis, it has no significant difference to the 5G+ plans. But when the congestions comes in, this is where it shines. However, this is not cost effective for most people. Oh yes, during the NDP free eSIM try-out, if you need to make a customer support call to 1688, you really get the priority and skip through a lot of hoops.

Personally, I will pick either the base 5G+ or Priority 5G+ plans. I will totally skip the Enhanced one. The Enhanced one to me, to put very bluntly, is a "absolute waste of money".

Prepaid plans may not be the same as SIM Only Plans so they are kind of out of scopes here, but take note monthly plans like Singtel Prepaid Monthly Plan, SIMBA prepaid plan and Starhub Prepaid Plans, are kind of the same as SIM Only Plans.

Last update on 28 Dec 2025.

1. SIMBA Prepaid, looks like not popular.

But it is more like a postpaid since it is more of a monthly (30 days) plan. Grace period is only 30 days. Officially it is a Prepaid Plans as the IMDA limit of three prepaid lines applies.
https://simba.sg/personal-prepaid

Critical information summary for the cheapest S$10 per 30 days SIMBA Prepaid SuperRoam 10 plan.
https://www.simba.sg/static/media/CIS_SIMBA_SuperRoam_10_Prepaid_Jan2025.958c1ecf.pdf

2. Singtel Prepaid Card is still like a traditional Prepaid service. But then they have monthly plans.

Now they are trying to promote 5G+ Data Plans as the selling point even though 4G data plans are still available.

a) Prepaid SIM Cards
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans/hi-sim-cards

b) Prepaid Data Plans
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/prepaid-plans

For number parking, it is now the best Prepaid plan because of the S$3 IDD pack add-on trick which can extend the validity by 180 days. Not so sure how long this trick can work in the future.

It may also be an okay option for users with mainly number parking purpose but occasional data usage.

For regular data usage, better to move to postpaid SIM Only plans.

The new Singtel hi! S$15 5G SIM is Prepaid as per the terms and conditions. Take note the good bundle offer is only for 28 days. After that there is an in-app hi! Surprise top-up offer to top up S$15 for the same benefits. SingTel hi! Prepaid app is used here. So in a way you can use this as a monthly plan at S$15 per 28 days with 5G.

The new Singtel hi! S$12 per month 4G plan (Port-in offer at S$10 per month) is a postpaid plan as per the terms and conditions. This can be considered as the replacement for SingTel heya. The S$5 per month senior plan (4G) is also a postpaid plan. They use the new SingTel Hi! app.

More info about SingTel hi! Plans here:
https://www.singtel.com/personal/products-services/mobile/hi

It is very confusing for SingTel to lump prepaid and postpaid plans together under SingTel hi! Brand, even though both are managed by SingTel Prepaid Team.

3. M1 Prepaid Card is still like a traditional Prepaid service. Now seem to promote 5G Data Plans as the selling point, just like SingTel.

https://www.m1.com.sg/mobile/prepaid-plans/m-card/sim

For number parking, it is an option because of the official S$5 validity extension add-on for 90 days. But people may argue for M1 Maxx base plan as a viable alternative (60 days grace period but may be longer).

For regular data usage, better to move to postpaid SIM Only plans, including upgrading M1 Prepaid plan to M1 Maxx plan.

But you can also use it as a regular data plan with the S$14 all-in-one Top-up, with 5G.

4. The new StarHub Prepaid plan (5G) is in reality a Postpaid plan with "Prepaid" in the name only. For example, it allows up to 10 lines of services and allows Port-in from other SIM Only plans.

Main difference is the generous 120 day grace period compared to typical postpaid SIM Only plans. This makes it still an option for number parking purpose.

For regular data usage, probably better change to normal SIM Only Plan which offer more data and benefits for S$10 per month.

More info:
https://www.starhub.com/personal/mobile/starhub-prepaid.html

Some of the existing Happy Prepaid Card users may have been converted to StarHub Star Prepaid plans which is not for new users to sign up. Recently the existing Happy Prepaid Card users are converted to the new StarHub Prepaid S plan.

One of the question asked is why WiFi calling (VoWiFi) is useful since it still eats into your bundled voice calling minutes.

Can I ask why after the port in, my telco show “Singtel WiFi calling” …? What is this sia?

Oh cool. So if I’m at home and use the phone to call out, it won’t eat into my plan outgoing call usage as it will be using WiFi ?

It will. VoWIFI is paired together with VoLTE / VoNR

In the case or situation that your mobile signal to the nearest tower is weak or non-existent, VoWIFI will enable your call to have better clarity as it can push high bandwidth.
Basically offloading call bandwidth to the broadband/internet instead of the cell tower

Ultimately, you are still using your allocated bundle. No free lunch.

VoWifi or wifi calling as it is better known actually functions as Voice over ANY available data network.
This in contrast with VoLTE which works over LTE/4G networks & VoNG/Vo5G which works over 5G SA networks.

There are 2 common ways to use it :

1) Voice call (& SMS) are routed over any Wifi network that allows wifi calling, why and how you want to use it is up to your imagination.
Common use case is for Voice/SMS in areas with good wifi coverage but poor cellular coverage.
Think some army camps, deep basement, remote office/settlements, and ships sailing in the ocean (w starlink).
Or it can be used in lieu of cellular networks, for reasons like saving battery power, reducing cellular radiation, limiting tracking etc. iPhone in particularly has great efficiency in this area, you can stay connected by wifi calling and go without charging for like 10 days in a light usage case.

2) Backup calling. This is when the sim with wifi calling turned on does not connects to a cellular network but instead use the data provided by the other sim for data traffic. This other sim can be either local or roaming sim.
This allow voice call & SMS as long as either sim has a good enough data connection.
It is useful in situation when your own carrier does not cover the area that you need to go to and you can be covered by another sim, including overseas location.

That said, Singtel & M1 (and probably starhub) limits wifi calling from overseas IP address, so it can only be used locally, or with another SG sim roaming providing the data connection (which provides a SG IP address)
Simba don't have this limitation, but their wifi calling only works with Android.

1. One importnat note about WiFi Calling -- it will not work overseas for Singtel/M1/Starhub/Maxx/Eight. SIMBA seem to work better.

Singtel allows only if you are connecting from SG IP. Eight, Simba roaming gives you SG IP.

This is probably true for M1/Maxx as well.
And I suspect eight also, although I have seen it working very rarely on overseas hotel wifi.

Simba is the only one so far that pretty consistently works on overseas wifi, still not 100%, could be due to the hotel wifi blocking wifi calling traffic.

2. Discussion thread about Singtel WiFi Calling.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-wifi-calling.7121039

3. Singtel FAQ on WiFi Calling.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/i/faq/wifi-calling

Where can I use this service?
You can use this service over any local WiFi connection. Use of this service at a WiFi hotspot overseas is currently not supported.

4. M1 WiFi Calling FAQ
https://www.m1.com.sg/support/faq/wifi-calling-faq

Is there a specific Wi-Fi network that I must connect to use the service?
You can connect to any local Wi-Fi network to use this service.

5. Starhub WiFi Calling FAQ
https://www.starhub.com/personal/support/article.html?id=HsEeq0QqFNAaH1lOAzrpsA

When I be able to make calls on VoWIFI when I am Roaming Overseas?
No, calls made while roaming will be made through VoLTE or 3G.

Roaming is of coure important factor for many users.

Some questions to ask about yourself, from A7997A.

Other than the above questions, some users are more paticular about roaming partners.

On the other hand, wWhether more established MNOs like Singtel/M1/Starhub offer better roaming experiences (and paying more for the the roaming charges) is another story.

For what when you have many other options like SIMBA/Eight etc. that provides more and cost cheaper than buying such VAS?

Because network coverage and bandwidth differs. Because roaming partners may differ and even identical roaming partners may offer different bandwidths. Saw a Facebook post where overseas roaming network was identical but bandwidth differed due to different Singapore mobile providers.

Yeah sure, but you're gonna pay more with no guarantees since one is roaming, so still don't get the point of paying more.
Local users will be priortise over roaming users no matter which mobile providers since bandwidth allocated for roaming is likely the same.

It is good to read the roaming FAQ from the providers.

Example from Eight. It has listed supported destination partners and whether the partners suppoort VoLTE or not.

BTW, for more technical-inclined users, I have also created a thread about using apps to check out mobile network performance. You can take a look if interested.

Often signal quality and latency may be more important than raw speed. BTW, I tend to think you do not need to be too much worried about latency during stress test (eg: OOkla SpeedTest download/upload tests) for most of the users -- idle latency may be a good indicator.

eight customer support response to my inquiry:

Thank you for your inquiries. Do understand that our plans do include 288mins roaming calls back to Singapore as well and at the destination you roam at!

Before I can proceed answering your questions, first you need to understand the difference between VoLTE vs IDD.

VoLTE stands for Voice over Long-Term Evolution or Voice over LTE. VoLTE offers the possibility to voice call via the LTE/4G* mobile data network. (DATA)

International direct dialling (IDD) calls let you connect to overseas numbers directly. Enjoy all-inclusive IDD Talktime with your overseas friends with our IDD talktime. (IDD)

IDD Supported Destinations:
Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, China, Colombia, Guam, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, USA – Alaska, USA – Hawaii, USA – United States Of America, USA – Virgin Islands, Vietnam

Just remember this, VoLTE is using your data so it wont consume your IDD.

Calls made/received when overseas (roaming):
  1. Calling local (roaming country) numbers: 288mins roaming (VoLTE) or Purchase Add-Ons
  2. Calling overseas (non-roaming country) numbers: 288mins IDD supported or Purchase Add-Ons
  3. Calling Singapore numbers (Local to Local): free 288mins Local Talktime
  4. Receiving calls from local (roaming country) numbers: Incoming Calls free
  5. Receiving calls from overseas (non-roaming country) numbers: Incoming Calls free
  6. Receiving calls from Singapore numbers: Incoming Calls free

If any of your 288 mins are depleted, you can purchase add-ons accordingly: https://www.eight.com.sg/plan-add-ons

One of the criteria to choose a SIM Only plan is whether you need voice services during roaming.

As mentioned by A7997A before,
2c) Do you need to voice service during roaming ? For incoming calls ? Call SG ? Call local numbers ?2d) Do you need to send SMS when roaming?

Eight seems to be a good choice as per the above FAQ.

The other is SIMBA.

Edit to add on 28-Nov-2025: the new Starhub 5G Unlimited+ and 5G Platinum plans also offer free roaming service. But they are more expensive that Eight and SIMBA.

SingTel users will get charges even for rejected voice calls when roaming. This should apply to Singtel MVNOs as well.

https://www.singtel.com/business/pr...-roam/terms-and-conditions-data-roaming-plans

Receiving a call while overseas include both incoming call roaming rate and rerouted IDD call charges (from Singapore to the roaming destination). Roaming call and Rerouted IDD call are charged in 1 min increments. Rerouted IDD Calls are incoming calls you received (including rejected calls) while you were overseas and have been rerouted from Singapore to the country you are in. You will be billed the Singtel IDD rate.

I think it will be 50 cents, 35 cents connection fee plus 15 cents for 1 minute charge.

Please update us when you receive the bill. :ROFLMAO:

https://www.singtel.com/business/pr...-roam/terms-and-conditions-data-roaming-plans
  • All voice and video calls are charged in 1 minute increments.
  • For USA and Canada, their operators will start charging after 30 seconds of ringing even if incoming calls are unanswered. If you hang up the call before 30 seconds, no charges will be incurred. This is subject to change by our overseas roaming partners.
  • Receiving a call while overseas include both incoming call roaming rate and rerouted IDD call charges (from Singapore to the roaming destination). Roaming call and Rerouted IDD call are charged in 1 min increments. Rerouted IDD Calls are incoming calls you received (including rejected calls) while you were overseas and have been rerouted from Singapore to the country you are in. • All outgoing and incoming calls are subject to a connection fee of $0.35 per call.
