Will keep a note. I want to see if i can DIY because I will end up having at least 100m of the Cat6a :ROFLMAO:

DIYer in HDB rarely able to reach 100m. Not just because of our room size but mainly to connect between rooms, the needs to lay cables thru concrete walls. YT are full of house wirling up but they are mainly US/UK wooden house. Advise to pay for contractor to lay the cables for you, they have the tools and expertise to not make a mess like most of us that may will only drill walls once every few years. Then if you still feel like DIY, terminate the cables yourself, buy keystone jack, patch panel, or even DIY your very own network rack.

Cat6/6A are not that expensive, a roll of 300M is about $300~$400. BTW, do not get ready made cables with RJ45 termination, 1) you'll never know the length until you connect the cables, 2) keystone is always preferred over RJ45 for permanent /wall connection.

Yes, i ask contractor to lay as I want them to drill through the walls and link it to a small network closet. I will do the remainder like cat6a patch cables to the switches. I hope it will not be messy ! :ROFLMAO:

Yes, keystone if you mean data point outlet.

Belden 10GA24, 23AWG, U/UTP; 1685ENH, F/FTP.
Other high quality cables from CommScope, 3M and Schneider, etc are equally as good.

I bump into this thread:

Ethernet Cables for Home Renovation

The thread starter deserved more appreciate for his work. Although the price was from 2018, they can still be served as a guide to the CAT6/6A cable price, eg, the Belden 7814A CAT6 UTP is still at ~$1/m for loose length.

FYI, Cat6A is quite a bit thicker >7mm, Cat6 UTP is ~5.8mm. The thicker cable is both stiff and quite a difficult to route thru smaller trucking/hole like in most home. As most already know, high quality Cat6 is able transmit 10Gbps up to 55m, which is more than enough for most home as we're not likely to run more than 30m in single length.

Thank you so much. I have decided to move with cat6a. As I am doing this online, i managed to get Bizgram to help me order cat6a.

did more tests

they have 2 driver available, one has power saving one that doesn't - both will install, both will have same issue when it does the upload the connection will drop
went into device manager Power Management and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power - same issue
manually negotiate 5Gbps, downstream does 4500Mbps upstream crashes
tried new cable and old cable (both Cat6E) - no difference

think my card is a dud

Just confirming: your motherboard's PCIe x1 slot is 4.0 and not 3.0 or lower?

I just... cannot comprehend why NICs are so buggy, i went for Marvell chip first, and it keeps giving dc, now realtek also seems to be giving issues.
I listened to the advice and got a intel card, although its abit pricy and old, but damn it works like a good old mechanical watch, so consistent and zero issue since day 1. zero tweaking of the settings needed also, just a work horse out of the box
