you have strong legs 💪
me old man... can only turnover faster :ROFLMAO:

At least you can turnover fast. Some folks cant even manage 185-190spm range.
For me in cycling, i sometimes alter between high cadence and low cadence, trying to get at least a wee bit of "recovery" in but still maintaining some decent power, be it HR or neuro / muscularly.

In cycling, similarly we have a neuromuscular aspect, as in the circumference (distance travelled) of the feet is fixed per revolution, as we spin higher rpm, this distance/speed increases until neuromuscularly we hit a limit....
Also part of the reason why some fare better on shorter cranks and can spin a wee bit higher rpm.

Under $300 for Garmin, I think for dedicated running watch is the Garmin 165. it's GPs is only single band. So won't be accurate as those that are dual bands like 265, 570 or 970. And hence their instant pace is more useable.
265 has stopped selling in Singapore officially. Don't know if you can still get it for cheap now since it's EOL here.
570 is the current mid level. I think this is the best features to price ratio model, You just missed the 11.11 sales where you can get it at around $480 with vouchers all stacked.
Saw forerunner 165 @$268
Will compare against Vivoactive

I know a national runner with a long run of 170spm, his tempo (6km) is 172 spm. Sub 16 min 5k guy. Was a 800/1500 runner in the past, maybe high stride length and low cadence.
lots of air time... the stride should look "power"
if only i got into running at a younger age........

recent observation... running in spikes seems to encourage longer stride length. the calves and quads do take a beating the day after thou :ROFLMAO:

If you are ok with leaving the Garmin eco system, the best entry watch (other than the huawei fit 4 imho) that is specific for running , is to me the Suunto Run. Now black friday sale at amazon around $280.
Suunto run has dual band GPS, which means is more accurate than 165's single band GPS.

Not being tied down to Garmin eco system makes economical sense. LOL. Left it, when I bought my Coros pace 2.

Just an update on the Dynafish 小鲶. Did a 80 minutes run, humidity was rather high as I was sweating buckets. By an hours my shoes were soaked and making squishy sound. And when i finished, there's ponding inside the shoes. Drainage isn't good with this shoes. Now I have 2nd thoughts if I should be running anything more than an hour in this shoes under high humid condition. What a waste, coz the running dynamic of the shoe suits very well for me to run longer distances.
