Mesh is linking 2 routers together to provide better coverage.

Have you checked your settings whether it's set to support legacy devices?

My doorbell can only work using wpa2.

For IoT devices - have to try creating another SSID, and setting it to be using only 2.4Ghz with WPA2 encryption.

Also for better security, if able to should set another VLAN for them to isolate from other devices on your network.

I schedule a weekly reboot for the router but every time reboot wan connection is lost, changed dhcp aggressive or continuous doesn't seems to resolve the reboot wan drop issue. Anyone faces the same and how did you managed to solve it? Firmware latest

Anyone's myrepublic wired connection always drops to 10/10 during rainy weather? It has been this way for around 2 years for me. On normal days I can get a 100/100 connection but during rainy weather it drops, and sometimes after rebooting the router it goes back to 100/100 but drops to 10/10 again after 10 minutes or so.

I thought it was a bad cable but if this is the case, I shouldn't be able to get 100/100 during dry weather.

shouldn't you be getting 1000/1000 aka gigabit lan connection? How come yours is 100/100?

My case was because the RJ45 head has loose wires, not crimp properly. Adjust the wires, then ok already

I have never got 1000/1000;before on multiple routers

highest is 100/100

Read HWZ Forum Rules!

1. update firmware of your router
2. update lan drivers of your PC or laptop
3 use different lan cable. Cat5e and above please. Cat5 cable is speed rated 100mbps.

In your case, from what i feel is your cable. because you said you have never gotten 1000/1000 on multiple routers. find another cable that is rated Cat5e above and try

heavy user on china, not just taobao, wechat etc..
from what i read, ST/MR is better for china, currently on ST 1gbps plan, contract ended long ago. Intending to change to MR. If i change to MR, do i need to gamer plan for china content, i don't play games, i ever used MR gamer few years back, it was very lag connecting to china, they had on some protection or what i can't remember, then i called CSO and they turned off something and it became better. due to this past issue, i still have my doubts on MR being better in latency to china, can i have some advice on this? so i can make my decision..

Been on MR Gamer for a while and working good, works great too for China sites like Taobao, Douyin etc.
Not sure what protection you are referring to but never face such a feature/function before,

Fellas planning to swap from Starhub's 2x1Gbps plan to the 3Gbps Gamer plan, more specifically "Magic: The Gathering | Lorwyn Eclipsed Collector GAMER 3Gbps". Will probably sell off the 2 collector boxes.

Planning to swap since recently Starhub has been pretty bad, granted they now do own MR lol. But I've been wanted to get a static IP address for a while now for stuff like remote access to my pc via Sunshine/Moonlight anyways.

Can anyone tell me if what I'm planning to do is grief? I'm seeing that the table shows that MR doesn't have ipv6 but I can't say I've actively used IPv6 on SH anyways so I don't think I'm going to be missing out on much?

Presuming my plan to swap to MR isn't a bad decision I think the reason I'm not going for their wi-fi routers is because I'm probably just running a lan cable through the ground to the router anyways so it shouldn't matter as long as I already have a functioning router right?

Wifi 5 already gets cooked by how much wall is in between my pc and router rn, can't imagine wifi 6/7 will have a much better time anyways.

I mean, as long as you know what you're doing. Make sure you'd actually be able to sell those boxes off at whatever price makes you happy

the MTG boxes that MyRepublic bundles with the 10Gbps GAMER plans were mainly IP tie-ups (or whatever you call them) that aren't exactly that desirable, so I didn't bother

WiFi 6's improvements also apply to the 2.4GHz band, provided your router actually has a 2.4GHz WiFi 6 radio, but I would just use the money you get from selling the MTG boxes towards getting a decent ceiling-mounted AP (placed somewhere central within your home)

before I was able to properly mount my APs on the ceiling and run wiring etc, I held one of them up with a lot of scotch tape and wishful thinking. worked well up until I took it down almost a year later

Gotcha, thanks for the quick response. Will try to look into upgrading the AP into something better than the provided Nokia ones from SH.

Also maybe dumb question, say I'm on the 59.99/month plan for 24 months, does the price drop back to the cheaper ones or do i need to renew etc for it to drop to 45.99 or whatever the lower price is?

Off-contract pricing is $59.90/mo for 3Gbps GAMER, regardless of what your monthly pricing was before (e.g. a $200/mo bundle with a desktop, or $45.99/mo no-frills, etc), per the full T&C

You'll need to recontract if you don't want to pay $60/mo.
