recently the 25H2 updates caused my sharing to be broken. Use to be able to share folders between the PCs in my house and also printers. After update, cannot share liao..

After google and trying all the methods, cannot be solved. Got comment says Microsoft purposely remove the ability to share for "enhanced security".. really kns

switched back to 21H2, then back to normal

I ditched Windows long time ago already. Other than office laptop using. Every since I tried Ubuntu, no turning back. Cli does not scare me since I was from the DOS era.

Next is to find time to migrate my VMs to a Linux based host OS for my server.

SMB sharing has been known to be vulnerable for years. It's long overdue for MS to disable it.

even windows 10 keeps using up 100% cpu usage often. Until i turned off some processes.

most people dunno or wun bother to find out how to do it and get stuck with a laggy windows 10.

if i had to switch, i would just switch to Apple macbook.
Linux is a b.tch to use ... for a normal consumer device.

For normal people who are not programmers, please just switch to Macbook.
even those supposedly userfriendly linuxmint not easy to sue?

yes. unless you only interested in opening up your browser.
if not, most programs are programmed and marketed to windows machine or apple machine.

if you enjoy spending your time finding alternatives apps (and usually end up a disaster) ..
or you enoying tinkering with the machine (UI or cmd prompt) just to get something done...
and then waste a few hours when you could have just gotten straight to the work or entertainment or whatever you are doing.

linux is for IT people and probably data scientist only .. it's a very niche use case.

So if you are IT person, you might enjoy it. But if for a daily use consumer, i think it will be very tedious and tiring to use.

like now.. i only use Docker, wsl2 on my windows machine for programming stuff
but on my windows , i can do everything easily like a consumer ... no tinkering for apps ...or settings. it just worked. Best of both world.

only if you are doing programming work or some niche use case that linux excel in.
if not, just use windows with wsl and docker and then rest of windows machine is good for consumer activities.
best of both worlds.

Not sure why there are people who just want to inconvenience themself to use a CLI tool. There's still terminal on the Mac. Ultimately, the GUI helps in terms of productivity.

Even most programmers use Mac nowadays.

true. That's why Macbook is good ... coz performance is independent of the power source and long battery life for outdoor not connected to desk.
