Just curious, buying US stock directly has estate tax risk when one passes on. What about buying an Index Fund like Amundi US Prime.

Hello folks,

Seemed like GIRO is a must if applying for RSP for Amundi UT.
No other way?

Hey guys currently buying through poems:

Amundi World: 1K CPF
Amundi Prime USA: 1k SRS

I think it's kinda overlapping so I wanna stop investing in Amundi Prime USA, and moving forward channel that 1K SRS into Amundi world. Which means 2k into it per month, 1k from CPF, another 1k from SRS, Can this be done in POEMS?

Poems treat each type separately. Currently I have Amundi World on both Cash and SRS. They are listed as separate items in Poems App.

Oh didn't realise that, yeah it's like around SGD 2.7 every month for 1k monthly cpf investment into POEMS amundi world. I have the option to change that to quarterly (3K per quarter), would that be better?

maybe u can spend some time to work out the difference for 2025. comparing mthly vs quarterly to see if the market value gain outweighed the agent bank fee.

$2.70 x 12 mths = $32.40. That's less than what you spend in a meal at HDL per pax. I think its fair price to pay for stability

Yes, that's a good point. I'm in a similar situation, I dollar-cost-average 1k to 2k SGD of my CPF OA into LionCapital/Amundi UT every month.

Cost is less than 2.7/1000 = 0.27%. If I hold the fund for 10 years, that'll be 0.027% per year, which seems reasonable to me. It's competitive compared to the fund expense ratio. Your mileage might vary, personal finance is personal and different for different people. LOL!

True, but what if i change to quarterly (3K every 3 months), will it become $2.70 x 4 per year instead? And, how will it impact the investment itself?

Yes,. you spend less on the fees, but will it affect your investment value, assuming a rising market over the long term?

But i think the key is to start, instead of overthinking it. Either options are fine, but the 3rd option of thinking and not taking action is deadly

Thanks man. I already started a year ago, doing 1K per month of CPF on POEMs, just that a member pointed out the high fees of doing this, so im thinking if i should switch to quarterly instead.

I am the member that pointed it out. my case for 2025, I calc my net profit will be highest if quarterly, then monthly, then half-yearly. so I will activate the quarterly RSP making this fully automatic.
