Hi all, internet noob here. may i know is there a difference between the Hyperspeed 10Gbps vs the Gamers 10Gbps plan?
I am currently using the Gamer 1/2Gbps since 6years ago and my contract is due for renewal. So far i am satisfy with the Gamer plan but wish to save some money if possible.

My current setup as follow:
-1x Ethernet (Cat6) to my PC with 5Gbps.
-Maximum only 3-4 wireless at 1 time.
-Maybe will purchase Asus RT-BE92U.
-play games like OW, WoW, Diablo, CS2, POE2...
-include watching streams + downloading.
Just downgrade plan to 3gbps basic can Le. Router continue to use wired, slower speed but cheaper. No need overkill

I think that the differences are mainly on the custom network routing and additional option to request for custom routing for specific games for GAMER plan.

probably better routes, pricier upstream transits/ISPs. lower latencies to China as well, if that's your thing?

er..sound like fancy stuff to me, but i have been using the Gamer plan since 6yrs ago and so far so good. i just hope that by changing to Hyperspeed it will stay the same but faster speed.

GAMER just gets better routing for your games which might need MR to possibly assist if there's issues.
Overall not much difference in gaming experience, just more feel good. The only visible part will be when downloading games/patches etc. with much faster speeds with all necessary parts met for 3/5/10Gbps connectivity.

Just get the lowest GAMER plan will be sufficient honestly..MR has been great apart from previous constant maintenance issue when consolidating with SH previously.
Prices seems to have dropped a little too as compared to previous IIRC.

D$@*&(*^t MyRepublic! 😡💢

I literally just signed up for a 3Gb plan 2 weeks ago and then you remove the 3GB plans - replace with only 10Gb for roughly the same price I'm paying for for 3Gb....D*^& you!!!!! 😠

My current MyRepublic 1Gbps broadband contract is expiring on 20 Mar & they are offering recontract on new 10Gbps plan but i'm currently using ASUS XT8 2 pack mesh routers for home network. They offered TP Link EB210 Pro router as the cheapest bundle, is this worthwhile? Can i keep using my current mesh routers without using the TP link one on 10Gbps plan? I understand there will be bottleneck of broadband speeds due to hardware limitations. Need advise on this, thank you.

both no 6Ghz band
Asus one is mesh
TP Link one has a 2.5G LAN

So basically u should consider getting one with 10G wan, and then 2.5G LAN ports or even best another 10g LAN port - so that you can potentially use it to your benefit

If u want to stick to this 2 only,

Asus - if u primarily use wifi only, and u need the mesh anyway due to dead spots
TP link - if u can actually use the 2.5LAN port, for PC or u have a 2.5 LAN switch and wifi is not that important

Noted and thanks for the advice.

I am considering between ASUS BQ16 & Eero Max 7 mesh routers for both wired & WiFi connections. Any advice on them please, thank you.

My opinion

ASUS BQ16 - if your mesh setup is only wifi backhaul - this quad band one will be better.
Eero Max 7 - this has 2 X 2.5G and 1 X 10G LAN ports out of the box - again if you can make use of it this will be better.

The Asus one has 1 X 10G LAN - so unless u only connect to 1 machine that u need high speed, u are going to spend on a 10G switch as well so thats additional money. The Eero one has 2 more addtional multi-gig ports that lets u connect without additional spending

I will go for the Asus because of the quad band - cos if i want more mullti gig ports i just go buy a switch.

I have 3 existing wired connections on my ASUS XT8, 1) desktop PC 2) Android TV 3) Apple TV 4K & the remaining ones will be all my mobile devices & laptops connected via WiFi. Which mesh router will be a better fit for this usage, ASUS or Eero? I would greatly appreciate your input and advice please, thank you.

The asus one appears to do the job for your usage out of the box - you can connect your desktop PC to the single 10G LAN port and the rest to the 1G ones since they are 1G devices anyway. The Eero gives more multi gig ports out of the box but your 1G devices cant make use of those anyway

Because u never said if u are using wired or wifi backhaul i assume u using wifi so the Asus Quad band will be useful in this case.

Between ASUS BT10 & BQ16, which would be the better one? My wish is to maximise the value of the mesh routers to utilise the bandwidth if possible so that is why I am undecided between Eero & ASUS . I also hope for minimal fuss free set up for them.

For LAN - internet access most realistic is multiple 2.5Gbps users at the same time. single device you are going to get some 6-8Gbps but which single internet source can provide you such sustained speeds - probably no or very niche.

As for Wifi even harder - you have to look at your clients also, wifi 7 maybe you are going to get 1 to 1.2Gbps on a speedtest. The routers are all 4T4R but for mobile devices i hardly think so (unless u talking about laptops and wifi cards)....This aspect you are going to check on your own. Take note also wifi 7 the distance is even shorter than wifi 6, also there is the issue of congestion

The most impt qn is not whether u can max out the bandwidth but rather going with which one gives you an upgraded experience. You can get a very beefy expensive one but your clients can't do the speed then its pointless.

Thank you for your advice. It seems that I should stick to my current ASUS XT8 since new WiFi 7 mesh routers may not achieve the upgraded experience I am hoping for. Should I use the bundled TP Link BE210 pro when MyRepublic replaces my ONT for the 10Gbps recontract?
