have qns to ask

1) sometimes will drive into wrong lane in circuit at BBDC means drive against the flow of traffice, how to rectify this mistake can anyone share? sometimes there is arrow pointing to the directions on the road, but sometimes no arrow is shown, then i willbe confused when to turn when coming out of S Course or Parallel Parking or Vertical Parking etc...

2) when turning into S Course, must we do safety checks?
if yes, how to do safety checks?

thanks for replies...... :)

1. if no arrow, that's mean can do straight or left, like the number 4 s course in bbdc, can go straight to vertical parking. For s/crank course, normally you left left, useless tester/instructor give direction.

2. Yes, check mirror, blind spot before enter and after exit.

Passed on my first attempt and seriously

TP = 75%luck 25% skill

Luck = tester good mood? weather good? traffic good? car good? any sabotager?

I freaking mounted the kerb one hour before actual TP. :s12:

hey all..i'm a private student.

i just took my 1st tp test last fri sept 11 at 345pmand i was utterly disappointed...with the way i'm being tested. i think it was clearly unjustice. honestly i didnt do any major errors(mount/strike kerb, wrong positioning etc), while doing the courses..even parking i went in 1 time and tester insisted i didnt check blindspots etc. so pts deducted..fine.

even the route test was cut short, no u-turn..no ebrake. the road mainly zebra crossing, bends, school zone area and stoplines..all i believed all i hv to go slow except for straight roads. so i was somewhat hoping to pass but i noticed tester ticked like there's no tmrw so i dont assume anything.

Hello,

Dont get discouraged and too sad.

It is okay for route test to be cut short until very basic. During my TP test, my officer cut until i just had to do left/right turns outside that's all. And i did pass.

So dont worry about how long the route is going to be, the point here is that TP officer wants to see your driving ability. Once he's sastified he can end it right away :)

hi jasciante, i'm sorry u didn't make it this time round. Dun be discouraged, try agin nxt time.

If you happened to read my post 2 wk ago, my tp is 3.45 also, at bbdc. First of all, (most) testers dun like us to go slow, take my advice, maybe some dun agree. Ask yourself, what's the speed limit of circuit? if no car in front of you, why slow, when reach bend, release your foot from accelerator will do, else go, up gear 3.

Second, safety check do it once only, make it big enough for tester to see.

Last the pt system is a guide only, not like exam, 51 you pass, 49 you fail. Therefore it's important to show tester you confident and zai in driving. Driving slow and check safety multiple time is a sign of no confident, am i right?

Practice more, i'm sure you can make it
hi fxsg123

thanks for your comments. i guess so..anyway 2nd /3rd/4th timer passers always get more experience ya..hehe

its ok..i'm already looking forward to my next test and i will bear in mind what you've advised.

thanks !

any tips for directional change ? the 3 and half kerb not really working for me,

when i reverse in the car always for the the left side, then when moving out will mount the kerb

if mount kerb/strike kerb during directional change = immediate fail right ?

hi there, my tester was foo shou way too! i felt that he was rather lenient already, i passed under him (second attempt).

congrats! one of the first few ques he asked was whether im a first or second testee. i was a first time testee. :(

he rarely let first timer pass. I also fail first time under him. first thing he ask me before we even reach the car. "first time ah" I repiled "yah first time" he repiled. "oh nvm jus try your best"

I was like wtf... he bent on failing me ardy before I even start engine.

so how many pts did you get on your first attempt? he asked me that too.

oh for me its 2 1/2 kerb and what my instructor taught me was you must turn the steering wheel to the right faster so you're able to gain more space when turning out left. but careful not to turn too fast as you may strike kerb when reversing in right. you can trial and error during practice so you'll have a better judgement.

so far i've never strike kerb during directional change with this way. while reversing to straighten car, also take note of the front. once you see the kerb in front of your car, can stop. roughly you wont hit the back kerb now and can turn out left safely.

also before turning out left, ensure your left door handle just past the left kerb then you full turn left. (ie. your left door handle parallel to the kerb)

the car i'm practising is vios. not sure if it works for the car that you practise on.
hope this helps.

when u turn, be it directional change, or parking, look at ur mirror to gauge the distance between the car and the kerb, make sure it's consistant, if u find the car veering too far off or too near kerb, adjust ur steering accordingly
