There's a company at regency house who claims not to be a timeshare company. I must admit that I'm ignorant abt all these timeshare issues and has innocentlt signed up with one but now have no idea how to get out of it...

I signed up with the company at first but after doing my own calculations, realised that the 'investment' was not worth it. I saw the 5 days cancellation form and called the office to cancel. However, the staff told me not to submit the form first in case it got lost and to personally come down only on the day which happens to be the last day of the cooling off period. I was puzzled as to why the appointment date is set soo late, so in order to be safe, I decided to submit by registered post first.

So on the last day of cooling off period, I went to the office in the hope of getting a confirmation of my cancellation and refund of my money. Instead, I was put in a room for more than 2 hrs as the staff tried to dig out the reason for my cancellation. He then offered me another programme which is shorter and cheaper. By then, I was too exhausted as it was already late at night and I had juz came back from work. So, after he prepared a new contract, I was made to sign it. I thought that I would have another 5 days cooling off period to reconsider it slowly. What I did not realise was that the ammended contract did not have a change of date, it was still based on the old date which I first signed the previous contract. This was not clearly made known to me!

So when i went back again to cancel the contract, by then the staff said that the 5 days period is way far too over, so I can't cancel it. I reported to CASE and sent them a letter, however there is no reply. I feel that this company has not been fully transparent and is very unfair....now I am totally at lost as to what to do????

I can confirm Cyclone's statements are true.

Don't be fooled by their ever-friendliness...

They won't let you off when u try to cancel the contract, even when u cancel within the 5-day cooling off period. When u submit the form to them or send it via registered post, they'll call u down to the office and 'drill' u, asking questions on why u wanna cancel. They say u must have a 'valid' reason, so they can write a 'report'.

What reason do they need anyway???? It's our hard-earned money.....

Why do people stay and listen to them talk and talk???
It's because they want some sort of proof that they have terminated the contract.

If we leave the office, there goes the cooling-off period (which was why they set an appointment at the end of the cooling off-period). At night some more, a few more hours till the next day.......

Oriental Travel CRP SCASM

friends, I am new to this forum. GOt this letter from oriental travel mentioning that they are running Cash Recovery Program and get upto 100% refund of the money paid for buying TS.
is this another scam again??? :(

Don't pay their so call CASH RECOVERY PROGRAM (CRP) they give you just a letter under the company letter head and give you 12 months recovery through OREINTAL TRAVEL so if the company close down who are you suppose to claim from? Who are their trustee , auditors, directors claim process. Ask them for proof to show client has done their claim. Not just show copy but actually talk to client not one but a few and try and meet them before paying. I just made claim for members base on this CRP crap from ORIENTAL.

HI, I am new to this post but would like to highlight some things. I was also told about these people who are supposedly helping the customers through small claims. Later I found out that these same people used to work in many of the TS companies in Singapore. Now they are claiming to help the same people they sold the memberships to in the first place!!!.They are also charging money for this "help". My thinking is that if you want to claim anything, dont pay any money to anyone and just do it yourself.
