Kuro:
Whats your budget?
24" should go for 5850 or 5870 if you go for the more graphic intensive games.
Black 1tb @ $130 only at PCT
Look at andyson 530w @ $69
Although I feel that AMD build is better (sorry, AMD fanboy) =P

1.5K, including OS if possible.

24" got any good monitor to introduce too?

:o

I prefer Fortran's build, but I don't like the idea of the 250. Maybe can look at other gpus?

Batuchka's suggestion of 5750 seems better to me if you got the budget.
If you really want min 4gb memory then go for Batuchka's build. Except that I don't really like matx boards, a little too small.

Actually this config was suggested to lao3hero - finalise what you require and set max cap for budget

Hmm ok
1. HD 5750/GTS 250 $179/169 was IT Show price so not sure still valid
2. Non 80+ PSU/2GB RAM is still doable but i'd rather hit an 80+ as a good PSU is a sound investment

temasekcity:
Gaming rig why get the WD 1.5TB green? Get the black 1TB black at $152 or 640gb at $100 if no need so much storage? I think the 640 quite value for money now, using it at the moment.

Vesius:
AMD 630 + TA790GX A3+ $291
Sapphire HD 5770 vapor-x $249
Samsung 22x dvdrw $30
WD blacck 640gb $100
KVR 1333 2 x 2GB $150
Andyson 530W $69
total $889, remainder for you to buy casing, can look at NZXT or lian-li lancool?

if 0.64TB costs $100,
1TB costs $152,
1.5TB costs $175,

1.5TB is value for money. 50% more for another S$25. :)
Well, i read a review saying that black is quite disappointed and noise is significant. correct me if i am wrong.

Also, 4k vs 512b change also have another 10% increase in storage. technology is getting better for new hdd.

The WD green runs at 5400rpm while the black at 7200rpm, which is much slower. Furthermore, he's using it for gaming, and you don't want the game to keep lagging or something just because your HDD can't run fast enough! Although the 1.5tb is value for money, its useful if you're using it for data storage purposes. Gaming and OS use faster HDD means faster loading times etc. Regarding the noise problem, I don't think an extra 2 or 3 dbs are really going to annoy you while you use the computer. You probably won't exactly take notice of it. If you want value by undermining performance, then the green is the way to go, but I doubt anyone here will recommend the 1.5tb green for gaming.

Allright man, thanks for the prompt replies and help!

Went down to Sim lim with my wife and went hunting for a good quote from the specs u guys provided. Still got spare cash to buy new speakers and keyboard for her, haha. Overall shes pleased with her new toy.

Bros, now can help me in putting up another rig with a budget of 1.1k for gaming purpose? Excluding O/S, speakers, etc. To replace my own died out cpu....:o Thanks!
