Erm, HDMI & DVI are compatible, essentially both are digital signals...

VGA is analog, so just stick to the original cable provided...

So you mean I should just stick with the vga cable then ? Sorry I'm noob at this!

ps - do I need to register my product for the warranty service? Thank you.

I bought my DP cable from UF Tech at Sim Lim. I think they are on the 3rd floor. They had 2 kinds, the one I got I remember about $28, another one "from Taiwan" one cost I think $30-40. The cheap one that I got works perfect.

Be careful buying from other cable stores, I had a defective one from another store in Sim Lim, won't mention the store name, not fair to them.

Other than that, it is difficult to find this cable elsewhere (I basically walked through entire SL), there was even one store that was selling it at $50+ with pretty crappy packaging.

Hope this helps.

Yes, stick to the provided cable if you plan to connect via analog VGA.

No need to register, everything seems to be handled electronically considering how Dell is an online direct retailer.

If anyone wants to have some professionally calibrated settings for this monitor here they are as follows. Performed on Rev A01 U2311H.

The following settings will get you 6500k with 2.2 gamma and 100cd of brightness. Which is perfect for image/video editing/ anything

Preset Modes > Custom (RGB)

R 94
G 86
B 89

Brightness 18
Contrast 75

Menu > Display Settings > Sharpness 40

In addition here is the icc profile that is generated. It doesn't change much since the RGB controls take care of 95% of the calibration. But it does apply a subtle LUT change to some colors.

My settings after calibration with Spyder 3 Pro and comparing with 2209WA:

Brightness: 35
Contrast: 75 (default)
Input Color Format: RGB
Mode Selection: Graphics
Sharpness: 50 (default)
RGB: Custom
• R: 100
• G: 95
• B: 90

I tried the first setting and it seemed ok. I made the sharpness 100. Does anyone know where to find the Dynamic contrast option? Is is DDC/CI?

Also, does anyone know if the "Game" preset option really makes image scrolling smoother or whatever in games? I change to that option whenever i game, but i still don't know if there's a difference or not. Seems to me like not much leh. :s11:

I think the settings for each monitor will be different and needs to be calibrated individually. There is little use to copying the settings u find on the internet for ur own monitor.

How long does the payment takes? I just ordered online from dell(Singapore) and they only send me confirmation of my order, no payment deducted yet.

Strange.

Strange.

The customer service staff will have to charge your CC before they can confirm the order.

I was asking where the Dynamic Contrast adjustment is in the monitor. And these settings actually do work. At least the first one. It's easier on the eyes. You should explore the settings based on other's recommendation first, then tweak to your liking.

Anyone know how to adjust Dynamic Contrast, pls post, thanks...

Hi guys, is the price similar at dell shop at funan versus dell shop online ?

They dont sell monitors at Funan AFAIK.

Although what I did was, went to Funan have them ordered the monitor for me.

And I pay them cash since I dont have a credit card. ^_^
