Hi, i read this thread but i still cant figure out how to start rooting my phone, first time using SGS2 and rooting it now. im on 2.3.3 , kernel DXKI2 , on the first page i clicked the link to xda forums to download the kernels but i could not find KI2 2.3.3 , it stats there at the side 2.3.4. What do i do? Hope anyone can guide me, really confused now... Thanks.

please remember to backup ur EFS as stated several times in this thread.
Didnt take note of this EFS thingy despite rooted and running on custom ROM for weeks.

I guess I will do that once I got my phone back.

Did you reset counter to zero? Pls feedback after you serviced.
Yes, I did reset the counter, now my phone is STILL in the hand of SSSC for repair and it service form state full Warranty. =)

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of rooting my phone to get rid of some unwanted applications like, vlingo and some other applications. I do not want to flash any custom roms though, purely freezing or uninstalling applications.

Few questions in mind:
-> how easy to root the samsung s2?
-> how easy to unroot the s2?
-> if rooted, and there's an update, can I update the firmware straightaway, or do I need to unroot first?

i've got titanium backup but i cant seem to uninstall singtel bpl and mobile espn. it just keeps on reappearing after i uninstall. i reboot and it is back again, even on titanium backup... any one knows how do i solve this problem?



just to answer the previous poster
1) easy
2) easy
3) you can update without unrooting

I'm on the stock firmware now so which cf should I use? I can't find ki2 for 2.3.3.
