Did you kana GST?
Nope. No GST.

The screen is really good. Almost as good as my iMad 27''. Except for the terrible backlight bleed and the 1 bright pixel, I'm quite happy with it. For this price $450, can't complain much.

The U2711 and these monitors have quite a few difference:
1) The Dell has a 10 bit panel capable of displaying 1.07 billion colours. (though no one uses it due to hardware and software limitations)
2) Able to cover Adobe RGB (For colour correction to prints)
3) Many many inputs. DVIx2 (with HDCP), D-sub, HDMI, DisplayPort, Component, Composite.
4) Has inbuilt scaler, hence devices such as PS3 can run at 1080P and the monitor will upscale it to 1440P. However, the scaler introduce quite a bit of input lag.
5) Built in USB hub and 8 in 1 card reader.
6) Factory calibrated(my 2 U2711s are pretty close in colour)
7) The Dell uses CCFL back light, which consumes much more power compared to the W-LED back light of the cheaper monitors.
8) Antiglare cloating is a little strong.

This is awesomely cheap and super value for money, if you got a flawless panel. I got both my Dells at $719 and maybe might get a 3rd one when a new model comes out and place it in the centre.

Regarding gaming on a 2560x1440 monitor, my Ati Radeon HD 5870 is able to drive one monitor satisfactorily. Eyefinity on 2 monitors is a bad idea thou.

Cheers.

I got the Dell U2711 and sold it after a week. The antiglare coating is terrible. Like looking at a dirty window.

These korean monitors are perfect. Glossy IPS just like the iMac and Apple Cinema Displays.

You get lower grade panels but you save almost 2/3rd the cost.

Wah! Very good sharing of information. Lucky you to get it at $719.

Why do you say that running Eyefinity on your Radeon 5870 is a bad idea? I was thinking of running 2 x 27" (1440p) screen with my GTX460. But from what you say, I might not be able to run it well.

Since these monitors are rated A-, i doubt anyone here will have a 100% perfect panel with no backlight bleed, or dead pixels.

All 100% perfect panels are A+ and would have been shipped to Apple/Dell anyway.

People who bought the 27" LCD from Korea
-----------------------------------------
1. Omnilancer - Catleap Q270. About SGD$450.
Receive after 4days. 1 bright pixel. Terrible backlight bleed.
2. jeff119 - ACHIEVA Shimian QH270-IPSBS .
-screen seems to be perfect, pixel wise.
-came after 5 days.

EDITED : went to look at the iMac screen today, it is almost similar to my QH270.

Theres 2 problems with that, first would be your card will not be able to cope with the load. To play games comfortably at 5120*1440, you either need to go for very low settings or get a much more powerful GPU.

The next problem is that, for some games, the centre is where most of the stuff is happening(crosshair, dash board view), the bezel in the centre ruins it totally and makes for a very weird and frustrating gaming experience.

Hi,

I don't mean to play the game across 2 monitor. What I mean is that currently, when I play StarCraft II, I only use one screen running in full HD. So I just wonder can I play StarCraft II based on 2560x1440 on just one monitor.
