Uncle Chay takes for HEALTH purpose.
Not going for bodybuilding competition, not going for strongmen / powerlifting contest.

Why risk at all, even if the risk is minimum or very little possibility of negative impact?

Yup, I'm taking 1 gram of tongkat ali & 3 grams of tribulus daily; tongkat ali has been proven to increase T levels naturally & tribulus has been proven to balance hormones naturally. All natural with other health benefits. Can definitely feel the difference in well being. Going to cycle them with D-aspartic acid which I just got fr iHerb. If I feel any negative side effects fr D-aspartic acid, eg irritability etc, I'll drop it immediately; health & fitness is no 1 priority & I don't want take any health risks.

It does suck. A change of paradigm might actually do one some psychological good. As you get older, one should become less obsessed with physique and strength goals. Forget about trying to compete with the youngsters.

New challenges will present themselves inevitably. Goals about getting big are now replaced with things like maintenance, not falling sick, avoiding injuries etc. Learn to appreciate what your body tell you. You may need more rest between workouts, if you have been lifting since young, you find you can no longer lift the same amount of weights you did in your 20s and 30s.

Learn to enjoy the process of training rather than be fixated with end results and appreciate the fact that you are still healthy and have a chance to train, some people do not. Through your cumulative training experience, share them and help others and remain humble, there is always something new one can learn from anybody no matter the age. Surround yourself with other things that make you happy. Pace yourself, you cannot train dead.

well said. I find myself worrying more about my future job and whether I can get affordable housing rather then becoming strong/big as hell as time goes by.

I believe depends on individuals.

Up to early 30s still got public call me Ah-Dee.
Hair dresser often asked me if still serving NS cos I always cut short.
And when I renewed my passport at CMPB, the NS boy, before looking at my passport particular, still asked me if I've finished serving my NS. No CSB.

I once thought I'll look young forever. Like the movie Benjamin Button.
But...

Then from mid-30, everything goes down hill. From the first
public who called me "uncle", nobody ever call me Ah-Dee already.
Hearing, eye sight (reading small prints), physique, all deteriorations expedited. :s11:

How can be forever young:D

When there is a live, there will be a death...:s8:
The older you are, the decrease of HGH...

You can have young look but your body system can't lying...:D

If you see Andy lau already in 50s, he has some boyish look...still can see old what...:D
Pple though I am 25:DMaybe can live until 168:s12:=:p

HGH, or human growth hormone, also known as somatropin or simply GH, is a peptide hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. A non-steroidal hormone, it regenerates tissues for growth and repair of many cells in the body. Low GH levels cause erratic sleep patterns, bone loss, increased body fat and decreased muscle mass, strength and mental function. According to the Life Extension Foundation, GH declines by 50 percent every seven years after the ages of 18 to 25. There are many ways to naturally increase the body's production of human growth hormone.

NATURALLY INCREASE GROWTH HORMONE
Step 1
Take in only low-glycemic or slow-digesting carbohydrates throughout the day. Low-glycemic examples are apples, pears, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice or wheat pasta. Simple sugars that are high-glycemic spike insulin levels. Not only does this lead to body-fat storage, but it severely blunts the release of growth hormone.

Step 2
Perform weight-training intensely with high repetitions. The burn you will feel in your muscles is the build-up of lactic acid. Lactic acid signals our bodies to produce more growth hormone. Try a range between 12 and 30 repetitions to reach the lactic threshold.

Step 3
Take the amino acids L-arginine and L-lysine together before exercise and sleep. The combination of these has shown to increase growth hormone production by up to 700 percent. As little as a gram will do, but take 3 to 5 grams for optimal results.

Step 4
Take 0.5 to 5 mg of melatonin before bed. A hormone that governs over sleep patterns, melatonin has been shown to increase growth hormone levels by up to 157 percent.

Step 5
Take 1.5 to 3 g of GABA immediately before bed. GABA, or gamma aminobutyric acid, has been shown to increase growth hormone production by 200 percent.

Step 6
Take 2 to 10 g of glutamine after a workout or before bed. As little as 2 g can significantly boost GH levels.

Step 7
Get adequate sleep to ensure high growth hormone levels. Most of our GH is produced in the first few hours of sleep.

Step 8
Consume a high-protein, low-carbohydrate snack before going to bed. The amino acids will help to boost GH, while avoiding too many carbs will keep insulin at bay so that it cannot inhibit growth hormone production.

THINGS YOU'LL NEED
Low-glycemic carbohydrates
Gym membership
Arginine
Lysine
Melatonin
Glutamine
GABA
Sleep

I felt a part of me die when i saw this advertisement. Sigh.

Romeo Tan - Bioskin ABS Trim Men TVC - YouTube

Is this the state Singapore is in? :( To find that kind of body appealing? :s22:

*dunno how to embed. zzz*

Oh, so its the AbsTrim advert. Its showing on TV very frequently.

There's nothing wrong if one prefers to be slim with abs.
To each his own.

There are females that think I'm 'too big'.
And I know I'm considered very skinny among bodybuilders even by local standard.

End of the day, one set his own target and work towards the goal.

I think the message it's portraying in the advert is damn sad.

"I tried exercising to lose weight but the minute i stopped, i got fat again"
"With my busy work schedule, hitting the gym regularly is too tiring"

Sigh... if you can spend 1-2 hours at the spa, you can go to the gym what. Don't want say don't want, lazy say lazy lah.... zzzz

So what you get is someone who has no muscles and barely visible abs. Wah, at the end when they "show off" his body, even though he's all oiled up, it doesnt look good at all! Skinny people with abs is like a fat girl with big boobs... it doesnt count! But i guess you're right, to each his own.

...

What I think is anyone can be buff or ripped , it's just how much effort you're willing to put in. Things don't happen overnight . If you are training right and determined, it's just a matter od time a person achieve his ideal physique :)

great advice. I'm the impatient kind so I guess I've got to take things slow. it was hard digging up your old photos but my god that is amazing. barely a year and so much difference...

I think a before and after photo would be a good comparision

More work is required on the abs and prob to cut down some more fat :(

I think another thread should be created to compile all the amazing makeovers lol. great stuff.

Rock has a latest pic that is even more impressive.

Btw, your signature is from Starwars, by master Yoda?
Original is "Do, or do not. There is no try."
