I just got a 8GB rams 2x4GB Kingston kta mb1333/4g from sls to fit into my mbp.. i wanted to get 1066 but they were out of stock.. therefore i settled for the 1333 because the sales staff told me it would work.. now that i fitted them, my mac can't seem to bootup.. seems that its not compatible.. not sure if its possible for a refund.. :(

you should bring down your mbp and test on the spot,

save you the trouble

yea... works ok with the stock 4gb.. hope i can get a refund tml if they have no stock..

Same as what happen to my MBP 2011 after I bought Strontium 2x4GB RAM with Lion, sometimes it doesn't want to boot up sometimes halfway through it hang funny things is that it is a brand new set without any data in it

So what I did was I switch back to original stock RAM and use for 2 week everything goes smoothly, end of the day I purchase from OWC 2x4GB which recommended by bro here and lucky enough after using OWC everything goes smooth till now:D

Which MBP model are you using it at?

I bought kingston ram a year ago as well (the cheaper version at that time not those specially for mac or whatosever), 1333 one for my early 2011 model it works nicely without problem so far.

Since usually RAM is backward compatible. =S

That is weird, is it because of the OS or smth? I'm using SL still.

i thought it was backward compatible too.. but it doesn't seem so.. you mentioned 2011 model so it could be the i5/i7 model.. that runs on 1333.. im using one gen earlier which runs on 1066.. hangs at the apple logo screen when i put in the 1333 kingston ram.. :(

Because people on macrumors some also using 1333 for the 1066 machine and theirs seems to work.

What OS are you running at? ML?

Yea that's really weird, first time hearing such thing.

Actually I tested Strontium with my brother SL it doesn't give problem compared to Lion which I had

So same RAM different OS and it gives problem. hmm...

SL = no problem

Lion = have problems. That's really weird, hope they resolve it soon. Still using my SL. Don't feel too good about going to ML. hahah.
