Hi Guys, has anyone tried putting a DDR3 1333Hz 4GB ram into a iMac early 2009 model which support maximum speed 1066Hz?

I can't seems to find a single 4GB ram with 1066Hz speed nowadays.

Difference between apple's ssd and ocz's ssd .

okay so now that the ssd in the macbook pros are significantly cheaper , is it viable to get it via apple themselves or purchase without ssd and upgrade one self?
because i remember i read somewhere that the ssd apple provides are specially tweak for the mac os . . are market ssd cheaper and faster or same price and faster or more expensive by a bit and faster ?

OCZ and Apple's SSD are different.
OCZ uses SandForce, Indilinx chipsets
While Apple uses Toshiba chipset.

OCZ is definitely faster and cheaper.

2. Self install, need to unscrew mac pro?..wll void warranty?

1. You can get it at SimplyMac.sg or go down to the office to purchase the OCZ SSD. I was looking for one last month and the guy was very friendly.

2. Can do a self-install. Does not void warranty.

I'm also considering the latest model but will work out my budget first.

Luckily chose Intel SSD instead of this for my MacBook pro.

There're too many issues with the Momentus XT on Mac OS X. And it's pretty documented and acknowledged by Seagate.

I'd suggest people who use OS X hold off buying this drive for now.

I have it in my 2007 Santa Rosa MBP.

Initially, there was no way the MBP could go to sleep, but then the latest firmware came out, and everything is working very well now.

I'd wanted to get it for my MBP 15" (Early 2008) model. But realised that there is no point as it is still using SATA I and not SATA II. If I have the budget, I'll just go ahead and order the new 2.2GHz 15" MBP and upgrade to 8GB RAM and at least a 128GB SSD.
