Hi

I visited COMEX last week and realized Huawei did not promote the 7' Mediapad 3G tablet but just the Mediapad FHD and the Mediapad Lite

I checked with Challenger as well but it looks like they are not selling as well. Do you know where I can go to purchase this unit? I like this tablet because it is giving 1280 by 800 screen resolution. And what is the expected price at the moment?

And I must say the FHD looks GOOD but price is a little steep.

Regards
Bob

Did you really go to COMEX or did you just look at the online brochures only?Huawei was promoting the original 7" mediapad. The sales person kept telling me the mediapad lite was on pre-order only and the original mediapad could be purchased immdiately. I tested both display sets and decided to wait and see how first.

I did visit COMEX and Huawei booth and the sales rep keeps pushing the Mediapad lite to me. Admittedly, I didnt see the original Mediapad on display. Perhaps I miss it. Do you remembers what's the selling price?

Thanks
Bob

I use an app to save battery: juicedefender. it works great since it will disable 3g connection when it is not being used. It only turn on every 10 minutes (if i am not wrong) for apps to fetch data in idle mode. Well, i did not take note on how much it improves the battery, but it is quite good app.

actually the HMP already comes with a power saving mode switch kept in the Settings. it does almost the same thing as JD.

Btw I have this experience. Whenever I put it to sleep the energy sapping is very apparent. I have to shut it down. Is there any settings ?

Hihi all have you ever experienced the Mediapad shutting down after with a Sim card in the Sim card slot? It'll reboot and shut up upon showing the home screen. This only occur when I have a sim card in -_-

where did you buy this? anyshop in Singapore or order online?

i bought it from ebay. it's a "Nillkin Hard Cover Case". around usd16-18.

it's almost next to impossible to buy any accessories for our HMP locally. if you are getting from sg shops, you have to either cut-to-size (e.g. screen protector) or customize here and there to fit (e.g some samsung galaxy tab cases).

My mediapad is ok with sim card as well. No issue at all. Can make phone call etc

Btw anyone experience battery drain while in sleep mode ? Or is it due to me activating fast boot? The fast boot is really fast. Sometimes faster than some app opening!

my battery drain is average which is normal for 3G connection. that's why my set is always in power save mode (3G will be auto cut off after screen off for >30mins). on average, i only use around 1 hr++ a day and it can last me 4-5days per single charge.

as for the fast boot thing, i can't see the difference. even when it is activated, my set still takes a while to boot. anyway, i rarely fully shutdown the tablet so the slow boot doesn't bother me. mostly just screen off.

are you using wifi? may be you try to manually switch off the wifi first, before letting your set go into sleep mode. because if the wifi is running in sleep mode, then it will be consistently polling for wireless connection. this put a toll on the battery greatly.
