hi all, based on my last update, i can now return the RG back to M1.. so i did it yesterday.. note that u can only return the RG at customer service centres (IMM, paragon, raffles city).. i went to IMM with what i have, queued up for the number, and when it was my turn, the M1 shop personnel checked my contents.. turns out i was missing a LAN cable and telephone line.. they told me missing components are chargeable, and for each cable, i will be charged S$21.40 per cable, which i know is super overpriced. told them the provided LAN cable was spoilt, and i was still using the telephone cable to the black ONT.. after 5-10 mins of going in an out of the office (i'm assuming she was trying to replace the missing component for me), she said she found an extra telephone cable, but i still have to pay for the LAN cable.. at this point, i told her that S$21.40 for a 1M cable (i think the original provided cable was 1M) is very overpriced, and whether there is another way. I didn't wan to return the RG any other day as all the centres are out of the way for me, and i wan to settle my recontract situation as soon as possible. she then came back to me and said that she will send in a request to waived off the LAN cable..
out of curiousity (and to provide more information for you guys), i asked her what are the required components M1 is looking for in the RG return, and how much each component costs, if missing. here's the breakdown:
- Huawei Router Gateway (did not ask how much)
- Original power adapter (did not ask how much)
- Original box (S$5.35)
- Driver CD (S$5.35)
- Manual (S$5.35)
- Telephone cable (S$21.40)
- LAN cable (S$21.40)
so if u guys are planning to return ur router, please make sure u have the above component, else prepare to pay for the missing ones..
