What is your O level result ? If the course did not state the requirement for O level Chemistry, most probably it won't affect you. Whereas i think your course of study in diploma affect more than O level in this case. Another factor are you a foreigner or local ? Plus your GPA is near the 10 percentile, if your O level is not that fantastic, consider lucky if they offer you early
For appealing, i think both courses has 200 + intake last year but if it was me, i would appeal for the GPA nearer to the 10 percentile one.

Hi, thanks for you reply! My O lvl results is 21 L1R5, I spoken to the prof for their open house there and they said chem is not a requirement if I have taken it in poly. My course of study in dip is Molecular Biotechnology in NYP, and yes I am a local.
I was considering CBC cause it's nearer to my gpa for the 10th percentile where else BS is abit higher. But I'm just afraid that with my O lvl results and also the fact that I did not take chemistry for O lvl but Physics and Bio, not sure cause of this it will affect my chance? Hence I'm also considering whether is it wise to write the appeal for CBC or BS.

Woah. JC Applicants got 7 choices ? Didn't know that.

Us polytechnic applicants only got 5.

Haha actually we have 8 choices but I'm asking about my 7th choice cuz it has the lowest cut off points amongst all my choices haha.

Hi. i was offered by SMU last week and yet I have been studying in a private uni and will graduate next year.FYI, i was rejected last year. Is it worth time to take the offer?

If you think you are bill gate, steve jobs then continue your SIM. Because like what Minister says, degree is not necessary for success. From my point of view is if you have idea/$$$ to start business, you really no need a degree to be successful.

If you don't think you have enough idea/ your dad is no rich, hook up SMU. You need a recognised degree to get a good 'starting pay' (both locally and overseas). You need earn enough money as fast as possible to start a business or whatever. (most of the people mindset, excluded me)

Remember, this society is very surface and realistic, the perception of SIM will always be there. You should know what i mean.

For now, no news is good news. No point thinking about what you should have chosen unless you need to appeal.

You mean there is 2 separate type or letter? One for NAA and one for the normal one?

If i am in your case ,I would appeal for CBC, just wondering if you actually receive rejection letter already ? It's always good to prepare the 50 words in advance though. For your information you can always send the 50 words appeal to NTU via email even after the appeal window close. Everyone is entitled one chance to appeal during this period.
