Can share the wireless settings to get these speeds on Asus RT-N56U router? Mine is less than that under 300mbps plan.

Thanks alot

Whether 300Mbps or 200Mbps won't help improvement of your wireless speed. Probably your wireless adapter limitation or your laptop hardware limitation. Pls note that iPhone 5 cannot hit 80Mbps whether using 2.4 or 5GHz even u stand next to router as limit of the hardware.

Yes you can try connecting cat6 cables directly to the ont box and do a speed test, I tried mine and got 200 overmbps.

Seeing so many of you guys using Cat 6 cables and having no prob with that makes me wonder why mine is giving prob.

tested the cable on my desktop and sis laptop, still getting 100mbps connection. both using the mobo's Realtek PCIe Gbit NIC

tried connecting a 1m Cat 5e cable directly via ONT and i can get 1Gbps on the laptop.

So the prob must be on the cable. Is a 20m long Cat 6 the prob or was it the very cable itself regardless of length?

This could be due to bad crimping or wires damaged inside, get it exchanged with the shop you bought if possible.

Might be the wiring problem. I'm using 20m cat 5e cable fix the cable myself

not possible since i bought the cable 2 years ago for my 50mbps fibre plan.

so right now my choices are either a new 20m Cat 6 or Cat 5e.
