i believe for iicandy case, he wants to do 5 NEW mods and 1 retake which is not possible in final year.

if you are under the old regulation, you can take 4 NEW mods and 2 resits in the final year

thank you for your advice. im taking 4 new and 2 resits. hopefully thats possible.

Just sharing my experience ,

for the past 3 years, i'm sort of studying PT... in my first 2 years i was working part time at evening shift while attending classes in the day. Most of the days after my lessons i will just head home str8 to take a nap or w/e b4 getting ready for work. Until the weekends or on my offdays i will sit down seriously n mug through. In my final year i convert to PT studies n took on a full time job with a bank, i skipped alot of lessons simply becoz i was too tired. I did most of my modules by self studying, dont even know why i so gum gong pay sim $$.

my results were pretty ok, i already have 1 leg in the FCH bracket by the end of my year 2 with 4 As. I didnt even attend any UOL overseas/ local revision class. Those that i attend i left halfway becoz i dont feel it can add anymore value to me...
I'm not super smart here but if u r willing to put in the effort u definitely can do it. i self studied most of my ****s but still made it ! If you have the right attitude, u alrdy secure half of the victory liao. good luck!

Respect!

I can blame no one but myself. The failure this time are of self inflicted. I cock up e format for one of the paper, section A do 2 qns an B do 2 qns. But instead I did 1 from A and 3 from B. And e outcome I failed by 2 marks. Another paper I was held up in a traffic jam. Paper was at 10am and I left house at 745am. And im still late for 30 minutes. I score 31 for the paper.

Hi everyone, I am currently a first year student, banking and finance, going 2nd year however I failed my Introduction to Economics.. From what I know, my 2nd year mods, CF and Macro Econs requires my Introduction to Econs to pass..

Now that I have failed, is it still possible for me to proceed on to 2nd year? I know I will have to retake my Introduction to Economics again, however can I take Introduction to Economics, CF, Macro Econs concurrently?

Can also anyone advise and guide me what mods should I take? By right I have to take 2 electives, but now I need to retake Introduction to Economics. So how many mods will I be total taking in year 2?

pre-req for macro is intro to econs. so you can't take concurrently

however you can still take 4 new mods + the econs which you failed, but those 4 mods must not be those which required intro to econs.

tbh don't need to care about the failed marks, what failed by 2 marks 3 marks are just plain bull**** imho

because overall is the marker decide whether student deserve a pass or not

so they put 32 or 23 also fail right, might as well put 32 let student feel "better"

I understand of cos after so many year in uol. Just because of that 2 marks means I have to waste another year to seriously pass only one mod to grad.

Flung macro and audit. Audit by 2 marks so gonna appeal. Try try.

dont bother bro. i appealed for audit before.
Audit only has 4 questions, how hard for them to calculate marks wrongly? and this is a qualitative subject. dont waste your $ to appeal. takes them less than a minute to makan ur 50 pounds.

Which means.. I will have to take FI and Investment management in year 2(which I planned to take in year 3) + my Introduction to Economics and 2 more mods? I am so dead now..

Just to clarify, by the end of year 3 I have to complete 12 units of mods in order to graduate?

Take as private candidate under RELC

Hi Bro & Sis, would like to check is it possible to transfer from SIM to RELC as a private candidate? As I left with one resit paper and I do not want to take under SIM as it require me to go for class. I prefer to go for self study and not willing to pay the course under SIM.

Thx

abt pbf

Anyone took PBF? Is it tough?

Anyone tried self studying for PBF? Is it advisable?

for pbf exam, there is two section A and B and need to do 4 questions in total

Section A = 4 Ques Choices ( Atleast choose one )
-mostly all essay ques, rarely got calculation ques(if come out also about 7 marks)
-Ques are from chapter 2,3,4,5,6

Section B = 4 Ques Choices ( Atleast choose one )
- Half Calculation , half theory ,
- Ques are from chapter 2,6,7,8,9

--so if u are good at memorising, choose 3 ques from section A, and 1 from section b

--so if u are good at calculation, choose 3 ques from section b, and 1 from section a
note: u still need to memorise theory

Theory:
- Subject Guide is more than enough , Memorise Everything,
when writing in exam, dont vomit word for word, rephrase, add example if can.
-Can self study by yourself, no need lecturer help- i did that

Calculation Ques:
-I doubt u can self study, if u can get a senior/lecturer to teach you the technique it would be much easier+ save alot of time

overall you can self study the theory, +with some help, calculation also can.. even if u choose to totally ignore all calculation, just with theory u can get 60+

not a difficult course

most important : SUBJECT GUIDE!

one more tip : for uol revision choose Jason!! Mark is just :s8:.

Yes you can choose any modules as long its compulsory for your course and fulfill the pre-req

you have to attempt all 12 units and passed at least 10 to graduate.
